SHIFT UP, the creators behind the sci-fi RPG Goddess of Victory: NIKKE are heading towards creating another title in the genre, but this title going to be AAA scale, and will be launching for Mobile, PC, and Consoles. The Tencent–backed South Korean developer has begun recruiting for the title on their official website.
SHIFT UP has seen success with RPG titles in Goddess of Victory and Destiny Child
It is clear that the recruitments are for the new project since the website link indicated “New Project Recruit”. There are various roles open, including Programmer, Technical Artist, Artist (Monster Concept), Artist (Character Concept), Animator, Designer, and Screenwriter. As of now, there are no current hiring plans outlined for positions in Project Management and Quality Assurance.

Now, speaking about the project, there are certain takeaways I have noticed. On the recruitment page, there is a mention of cross-platform, so this is huge for players for progression. Similarly, the recruitment page gives us more info, with the development platform being Unreal Engine asking applicants to have development and rendering experience in that platform.
I’ve listed out the roles, and it’s straightforward: this urban setting will include monsters. Both the character artists and animators will focus on creating these monsters. SHIFT UP has good experience in creating RPG titles, be it NIKKE, the recently discontinued Destiny Child, or the upcoming console title Stellar Blade, so there’s potential for this project to be the next major success.

However, since recruitment has not yet begun, there is a noticeable gap indicating that the project is still in the conceptual stage. As a result, it may take a significant amount of time before tangible progress is made. SHIFT UP bringing an urban RPG AAA title, especially to mobile, will be huge. I will update you on details as they are known, including game name and specifications. Until then, keep playing!
