SHIFT UP, backed by Tencent, announced that Level Infinite will globally publish its flagship title, Project Spirits, marking the second partnership between the two studios. First revealed in June 2025, the game is now in co-development with Yongxing Interactive, Tencent’s affiliate.

It makes sense that Level Infinite is now going to publish Project Spirits, especially since they have already been handling the global release of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. Now, for a quick intro, Project Spirits is a new cross-platform subculture title built using Unreal Engine 5, set around an Eastern fantasy concept.
The good news is that SHIFT UP is now co-developing the game with Yongxing Interactive, whose team comprises veterans from well-known game studios, specializing in ACG subculture games. Knowing this, my expectations have already gone up as both studios are “committed to achieving even greater synergy with Project Spirits than in their previous venture.”
While not much information about the gameplay is available yet, I do hope this is the AAA urban sci-fi action RPG that SHIFT UP was recruiting for last year’s April. One thing is clear that it will have anime-style visuals, though the hints of AI-generated art are noticeable, and could turn off some players.
Level Infinite aims to “deliver the next generation of gaming experiences to players worldwide.” The game will arrive globally in 2027, so we can expect more updates in the coming months. Stay tuned until then!
