Snowbreak: Containment Zone servers reopen this week after long hiatus and backlash in China

The beloved sci-fi RPG shooter is finally reopening its servers!

Story Highlights
  • The game went into indefinite maintenance in March after controversy surrounding its China Post collaboration.
  • Devs are offering generous compensation rewards, free pulls, returning event content, and more.
  • Several paused timers, limited items, and select “Back From Bygone” event content will also continue after server reopens.

Seasun Games Pte. Ltd. has officially announced to reopen the servers for its beloved sci-fi RPG shooter, Snowbreak: Containment Zone, on May 8, 2026. The game had remained under unscheduled indefinite maintenance for two months, following the collaboration controversy with China Post.

Snowbreak went offline following controversy around the China Post collab

So, if you somehow missed what happened, Snowbreak: Containment Zone entered indefinite maintenance on March 2, 2026, after being the center of backlash in China. Even after major outfit changes on both the China and global servers, many saw the game as erotic, hence inappropriate for a collab with a state-affiliated entity like China Post.

Thankfully, it looks like things are back to normal, as the game is now returning this week itself. Moreover, the comeback will also kick off the time-limited Winds of Warmth event simultaneously as the servers reopen. Now, I just hope everything works well, so that fans don’t get to face such situations again.

Plus, to welcome everyone back, the devs are also offering several compensation rewards and bonuses. And, here’s what you can look forward to:

  • 1x Ever Together – Advanced Manifestation Invitation Letter and 1x Ever Together – Advanced Weapon Bay.
  • 1x Special time-limited Manifestation Echo Covenant per day.
  • Previously unclaimed rewards will also return, including Water City Tour missions and Dreamtide Pass.
  • 4x Memory Chip Bundle and 2x Baldr Inhibitor (Large) daily for 14 days.
  • Namecard: Welcome Home, avatar Full Throttle, and chat stickers.

Additionally, the game will also have a few important adjustments tied to the maintenance period and older event content. Thanks to this, some previously claimed limited-time items will retain their remaining validity duration from before the maintenance started on March 2.

Meanwhile, the Employee Benefit timer, which was paused before, will also continue normally after the game goes back online tomorrow. Lastly, certain content from the Back From Bygone update is now being extended until May 15, 2026, including the Chongfu Market event shop, Special Invitation event for Marian – Aquila, and the Hero Games co-op event.
