Space Invaders: World Defense is an upcoming AR mobile game brought to you by TAITO Corporation, the game was announced back in 2021. Now according to developers, the game, Space Invaders: World Defense will get a global release on the 18th of July, 2023.
Space Invaders aims to deliver the classic Space Invaders experience via AR
Space Invaders is a classic title and is a really popular IP that has a dedicated fanbase of its own. The game will deliver the same action-packed adventurous experience for the players to experience in an Augmented reality-backed system. The developers have developed the game with Google’s ARCore system.
The game will follow a similar universe of Space Invaders where the players will try and keep the invaders at bay in a bid to secure the future of Earth. The invaders this time around use a different dimension to attack the planet Earth, and the pilots of Earth are tasked with the ultimate defence of the planet from the invaders. As one of the Earth’s most skilled pilots, the players have to defend and repel the attacks at all costs and use their expert skills to travel between dimensions and defend the planet.
The game originally was an arcade gaming title that offered a unique concept and hence quickly caught everyone’s attention back in 1978. The game was a quick success and was also considered one of the best-selling titles of that time.
The game, Space Invaders: World Defense will also be looking to replicate a similar success story and be successful in the market. It will be really interesting to see how the game world competes with the likes of other AR titles of popular franchises.
The game is now available for pre-registration on both Android and iOS and can be accessed via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
