Stardew Valley is gearing up for a brand new update, with the developer ConcernedApe announcing Update 1.6 release date to be on March 19, 2024, on PC with mobile and consoles to follow as soon as possible. Celebrating its 8th anniversary, this update will bring a range of exciting features to the game where players can look forward to a new festival and items, while there will be additional dialogues added, and there has been some curiosity regarding the secrets.
Stardew Valley Update 1.6 will fix major bugs alongside dialogues
In April 2023, ConcernedApe said that the upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6 update primarily focuses on enhancing the modding experience, making it easier and more robust for modders to create custom content. However, he added that players can still expect some new game content, although it may not be as extensive as the additions in the 1.5 update.
So, about the modding, it is exciting to get more options on the creative side with Stardew Valley 1.6 will be introducing its extensibility for mods. These fundamental updates aim to provide modders with a more flexible framework to create custom content and modifications. Another arrival will be the introduction of the Big Chest, capable of storing almost twice as much as the regular one, fulfills a long-standing desire shared by many players.
There are already speculations on what the festival might going to be. While some players are longing for a Valentine’s to get a little romance, a few suggestions such as Flower Dance, Summer Day, White Day, etc are thrown around. With these mentions, there is definitely something big coming. With this, it also promises to expand late-game content, including skill tree enhancements and new professions, adding depth to gameplay.
There are also a few fixes coming. One such improvement involves the head icon on the map which remained static on the map even as the player moves around. However, after the update, the world map will dynamically display the player’s actual position within the game world in real-time. The farmhouse and pet bowl can also be moved, which is a major help to many players.
When will Stardew Valley 1.6 update be released
As I mentioned, ConcernedApe has mentioned the date for PC release, but no date regarding the mobile and console platform. Currently, we do not have info on when the update will be released on mobile. However, there is a hope of a timely release and not a situation where there is a delay, as the dev last time apologized for the same during the version 1.5 update for mobile.
