Talking Tom Gold Run introduces its new Relic Rush event with a “toxic” twist

Talking Tom Gold Run is stepping into a more intense territory with its latest update, as Outfit7 rolls out the brand-new Relic Rush event. Marking the game’s 10th anniversary year and its massive 3.2 billion downloads milestone, this limited-time event brings a cheeky twist to the classic endless runner formula, and you will tell if it is a “toxic” one or not.

The Toxic Cloud arrives with Sands of Time as a new World in Talking Tom Gold Run

So, with the Relic Rush event, the game moves away from the usual “crash and end” gameplay loop and replaces it with something far more relentless. You now have to outrun a rising toxic cloud that continuously creeps up from the bottom of the screen.

You have to make up your mind correctly, as a slight hesitation or a mistimed jump is enough for the gas to catch up and instantly end your run. So it will be even tougher, as the cloud reacts to your performance, gas speeding up as you go.

With the new event comes the new setting. An Egyptian-inspired environment will be where you will make the runs, which comes with a cleaner aesthetic that removes distractions like buses. 

As you are running through crumbling ruins with collapsing platforms, you will have to do it while avoiding hazards like rolling stone spheres, sand spike floors, and sarcophagus wagons. If you find this difficult, then with mummies emerging mid-run, it will get extra scary. 

Progression in Relic Rush revolves around collecting Scarab Tokens, which can be used to unlock exclusive content. Two major additions stand out here. As Explorer Becca joins as a new adventurer-style outfit that can be earned through gameplay, Cleo-Cat-Ra Angela arrives as a premium offering with the Egyptian-themed skin.

For those looking for a final extra challenge, a Secret Level is tucked away within the event. Reaching it requires pushing deep into the ruins and surviving longer against the ever-closing toxic cloud. 

The Relic Rush event is now live on iOS and Android and will run until May 2, 2026, with more anniversary content planned for Talking Tom Gold Run later this year.
