- Midjiwan confirms a brand new gameplay mode and additional features arriving later this year.
- Anniversary celebrations include exclusive merch, the New Dawn Cymanti skin on Switch, and a physical card game.
Midjiwan is now celebrating the 10th anniversary of their beloved strategy title, The Battle of Polytopia. What started as small passion project has now crossed millions of downloads, and the studio has also promised new gameplay modes and features coming in the future.
A small passion project to an award-winning title, The Battle of Polytopia has came a long way
So, for those unaware, The Battle of Polytopia is a 4X civilization turn-based strategy title that was first released on February 2016 with just five tribes and a single mode on iOS by Midjiwan founder Felix Ekenstam. And over the years, the studio expanded the game even more with new tribes like Cymanti, along with leaderboards, game modes, weekly challenges, skins, and more.

We eventually could play it on Android, PC, and even Switch, and it’s really nice to see a game grow smoothly, considering the recent trend of games ending services in a year or two, like TRIBE NINE, Atelier Resleriana, and more. I also love seeing indie studios winning and celebrate such milestones.
You can now grab the limited anniversary poster, new skin, and look forward to new game modes and features
Now, to kick off the 10 year celebrations, Midjiwan has now released a signed limited edition anniversary poster via it’s official store, and even introduced the New Dawn skin for the Cymanti tribe on Switch, which we mobile players already got.
They’re even bringing a new gameplay mode and additional features later this year. Not only that, but the team has also revealed that a physical card title based on The Battle of Polytopia is in works. So, as you celebrate the 10th anniversary, stay tuned for more updates!
