The Pegasus Dream Tour is the official mobile game of the Tokyo Paralympics

The Japanese gaming company JP Games Inc has collaborated with the International Paralympic Committee and has announced today that there will be an official game for the upcoming Tokyo Paralympics. The game has been named The Pegasus Dream Tour and it will arrive on mobile platforms on June 25th, 2021 for Android and iOS devices. The studio JP Games has been founded and led by Hajime Tabata, a well-known director from Square Enix who directed the Final Fantasy XV.

Welcome to the wonderful Pegasus City

The Pegasus Dream Tour

The Pegasus Dream Tour is an avatar-based RPG that will take place in the fictional city known as Pegasus City. The game will allow users to create an avatar in the world called a “Mine” and characters will be able to choose ethnicities from any region. The game will use the latest technology to generate the face of your character from your very own selfie. Due to real-world restrictions preventing spectators from interacting as they usually would at such events, this game aims to allow people to enjoy the Paralympics in an innovative way akin to how we would normally interact.

Real World Paralympians are here to Play in this game

When playing the game, you will also come across the avatars from pre-generated characters made by the developers. Some of these characters will also be from real-world competitors who will be present at the Tokyo Paralympics. Nine of the world’s top para-athletes will be featured in the game with their avatars. They are:

  • Takayuki Hirose (Boccia / Japan)
  • Patrick Anderson (Wheelchair basketball / Canada)
  • Holly Robinson (Javelin / New Zealand)
  • Silvio Velo (Football 5-a-side / Argentina)
  • Manami Tanaka (Wheelchair Tennis / Japan)
  • Kohei Kobayashi (Badminton / Japan)
  • Rie Ogura (Badminton / Japan)
  • Scout Bassett (Athletics / USA)
  • Chaiwat Rattana (Athletics / Thailand)

This game will serve as a Tool for Expanding Diversity
