The popular social media platform is stepping in a new direction!

It seems like TikTok is now heading into the world of Mobile gaming with an announcement coming on the 2nd of November possibly regarding an upcoming launch during the TikTok Made Me Play It event.

A selection of mobile games, now on the TikTok homepage

TikTok is making a big push into gaming, adding a dedicated tab within the short-form video platform. This will be its first venture into a different entertainment format […]

Users will be able to access the games via a button on the homepage of what is one of the world’s most popular video apps. It will feature a host of mobile games where ads can be served. And users can pay for additional content”, The Financial Times stated.

Additionally, LinkedIn post from Assaf Sagy, the Head of Global Gaming, TikTok said in one of his posts “TikTok and Gaming were made for each other. For more than a decade, the Gaming industry has been growing faster than any other to become one of the world’s most common forms of entertainment. With three billion active players, publishers are now launching games with the intention of creating mega brands and appealing to the masses”.

A giant like TikTok joining the action on mobile gaming is certainly something that’s set to create waves. Although not much can be said till the event, which will host organizations like Electronic Arts (EA), 2K, and NetEase among others, and will hopefully give more insight. Considering how other platforms, most prominently, Netflix are working towards their such projects, this should be quite interesting to see.
