- unVEIL the world has announced the shut down of its servers on May 31, 2026.
- New account registrations and in-game purchases have already been disabled.
NetEase Games and Shueisha Games‘ tactical RPG unVEIL the world has announced that the title is shutting down, with service set to end on May 31, 2026. The announcement was shared through an official notice, with the game’s closure happening in less than a year after its launch.
unVEIL the world had an interesting premise that failed to attract audiences
unVEIL the world had a relatively brief lifecycle. First announced in September 2022 as a tactical RPG for mobile, the game went on to host a closed beta in November 2024 across Android and iOS. It continued with pre-registration opening in August 2025, setting expectations for a global rollout, although it was just in Japan.
The game was set around a mysterious giant tower that connects multiple worlds, said to hold endless riches at its peak. The story follows a group of boys on a journey to reach this so-called “Eden,” blending adventure with a manga-style narrative presentation, which seemed to be pretty ambitious by the looks of it.
Despite the build-up, the game struggled to sustain itself in the long term. Player interest seemed pretty low, and even after the announcement, many players were surprised to find a game like this existed. All these aspects might have ultimately led to this early shutdown decision.
Following the shutdown, players who still hold unused paid Eden Light Crystals will be eligible for refunds. The refund request window will be open from June 1 to August 31, 2026, with options including direct bank transfers or refunds via Google accounts.
New account registrations have already been suspended from March 31, 2026, and you can no longer purchase premium currency. However, the game is available to download on the respective app stores. So until the servers officially go offline, you can continue accessing the game.
