War for the Seas has just hit the global servers worldwide for all android devices. The game was developed by NetEase and is an open-world RPG, a pirate-themed exploration game. It is set to be a bold new take on a genre that is still relatively unexplored, particularly on mobile devices.
War for the Seas is based on exploration
Being an open-world game, War for the Seas encourages players to sail to any part of the map. Despite the game’s rather cartoonish aesthetic, NetEase has placed plenty of emphasis on realistic aspects of naval warfare as well. Some small attention to detail includes adjusting the cannon before firing and controlling the ship by use of a rudder.
These tiny details might not seem like much on paper but they genuinely provide a realistic and thrilling feel to the game’s naval warfare aspect.

The game is set to feature real-time multiplayer naval battles with other players. To keep the interest in the game going, NetEase has also added a social system to the game where players can add friends, form alliances, and go on adventures together. Of course, players have the option to sail the high seas all by themselves but forming alliances and interacting with other players will no doubt provide an enhanced experience.
How to download War for the Seas
The game is a free-to-play game but has optional in-app purchases. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store from any region. The game has not yet been released on iOS. NetEase hasn’t given any indication on whether it plans to release an iOS version in the near future. So, unfortunately, users on iOS will have to wait. Tackling a relatively new genre players will be expecting something thrilling and adventurous.
GamingonPhone has reached out to NetEase for more details on the game and will update the article as and when more information is available.
