War Robots, the flagship mobile shooter by MY.GAMES is now available in China

War Robots returns to China

The European publisher and game developer, MY.GAMES has revealed that its flagship mobile shooter, War Robots, developed by Pixonic, the in-house development team of MY.GAMES launched in China through collaboration with the third-party publishing partner, iDreamSky. The game can now be accessed on the Apple App Store and various Android app stores.

War Robots soars to 250 Million players globally, crossing $750 million in revenue

In 2023, more than half of global players were situated in the Asia-Pacific region, with China contributing around 40% of players in that area. Notably, China stands out as a mobile-centric gaming market, with 727 million people engaging in gaming, and 680 million of them opting for mobile devices. Chinese mobile players make up about 24% of the global mobile player base, and mobile games from this region generate approximately 30% of the global revenue in the mobile gaming market.

War Robots, launched in 2014, has exhibited consistent growth, amassing over 250 million registered players across all platforms and generating a lifetime gross revenue exceeding $750 million. Before the mandatory ISBN publishing license requirement in China, the game had already gained significant popularity among Chinese players. Up until 2021, approximately 20% of the game’s total iOS downloads were from China, establishing the country as one of the top three markets for War Robots on the App Store.

War Robots gears up for a remarkable return to the Chinese gaming scene

In March 2023, the game obtained an ISBN license from China’s State Administration of Press and Publication (SAPP), thanks to the collaborative efforts of developers and partners from China. Only 27 foreign games secured this license in China during 2023. Following a hiatus, War Robots is poised for a comeback.

Throughout the years, the development team has been actively enhancing and supporting the game. A comprehensive graphics remaster, along with various additions such as a leaderboard system, events, new game modes, and a plethora of new mechs, weapons, and features, has been introduced. Chinese players now have access to a wealth of exciting content.
