ESL Mobile announced the year finale event of the League of Legends: Wild Rift Icon Series, called Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021. A short promo video released on their official Twitter account showed that the event is coming soon to the SEA region, to where Oceania will be added. The tournament is going to be one of the biggest events of Wild Rift esports as top teams from SEA countries are going to participate to show their prowess in the game.
Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021: What can fans expect
Riot Games announced its first official circuit of Wild Rift on February 4, 2021, the SEA Icon Series. It has had two seasons and eight regional tournaments in different countries until now. Wild Rift SEA Icon Series 2021 fall season is currently in action in eight regions from Southeast Asia and will be concluded by the end of the next month.
Top teams from eight regions that are Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Vietnam will fight, including another team from Oceania. The Oceania team will join directly from ESL Mobile Open Oceania Championship Season 1 which will start on August 19, 2021.
No information has been published yet regarding the number of slots from each region as well as the schedule of the tournament, these might get published next week. But fans are hoping that the champion and the runner-up team from each region will participate. We can’t confirm this for sure now.
SEA Icon Series fall teams will qualify for the SEA Championship 2021 that’s coming shortly. Not only this, but teams will also fight for a slot in the Wild Rift World Championship.
As this is going to be the year finale event of Wild Rift, the tournament will be filled with intensity and non-stop action from the mighty legends. Every team will put their best foot forward to emerge as champions, and also to confirm the world championship slot. Riot Games is on the right track to complete a successful year as they promised when first revealed the roadmap for 2021.
