League of Legends: Wild Rift has released a Dev Diary from Alan Moore, Game Director. As a part of the dev diary, Moore will provide a preview of the upcoming Patch Notes 2.4, highlighting the updates and the new things which are coming to Wild Rift. With the onset of Ruination in the game, Moore will shed some light on the changes which will be happening in Wild Rift for the next 2 months.
New Champions
Akshan
Akshan, the Rogue Sentinel going to have his debut in the Rift. He is an assassin marksman hero, who brings some interesting tools to have fun in the mid-lane. Akan will be released in a few weeks’ time from now.
Brand
Brand, the Burning Vengeance will join Wild Rift in September. He is a fire mage who excels as a mid laner or as a support. His abilities gain new powers when opponents are ablaze.
Nunu and Willump
Nunu and Willump will be the new jungler champion who has a shared love for snowballs. Set to roll into Wild Rift in September, this jungle duo will make things more interesting for the jungle creeps.
Thresh and Viego
Some behind-the-scenes stories about bringing Thresh and Viego to Wild Rift. At present, there is no confirmation of his release.
Gameplay Changes
Wild Rift Patch 2.4 Preview highlights that the upcoming patch cycle will focus mostly on gameplay balances. New items will be introduced to help champions fight in the rift.
New items are planned to be released. These are:
- Solari Charge Blade
- Crystalinne Reflector
- Essence Reavercrit
Patch Notes 2.4 will also bring gameplay changes to 19 items. These are meant to spice up things in the battleground for the champions.
Ranked Game Changes
Promotion
A major update will be released for Ranked games in the future. There will be no promotion series to move up to a new tier in the Ranked games of the next season. This change would be very well monitored. It will be an important testing factor for the developers. The reward for hitting the Gold tier in the next season is Glorious Lulu and her Pixi-corn.
Champion Select
There will be a 3 champion ban instead of two to make people play more champions before hitting ranked games. The number will eventually be increased to 5 when the pool champions are further increased.
Wild Pass
Wild Pass will return in the Patch Notes 2.4. There will be a better reward awarded for the purchase of Wild Card. It is going to be a permanent feature of the game after the 2.4 Patch Update. The improved Wild Pass will get its launch around August.
Competitive Features
Wild Rift Esports has gained massive popularity in the Europe and South-East Asia regions. To bring better competitiveness and viewing experience for esports organizers and viewers, the developers will be releasing some pretty handful of tools such as spectator mode. This will be done to make the viewing experience better and exciting.
Highlight Feature
Players will now be able to view their gameplay of old games and save them on their phones to watch later. The players will also be able to capture moments of their best gameplay actions.
Quality of Life
Wild Rift will also be releasing several changes on the dashboard and user interface system. The changes will relate to the viewing experience of rewards available, event progress, and daily mission completions. The players will also be able to share moments with any compatible app on the phone.
