League of Legends: Wild Rift is preparing for the release of their third season. Riot Games announced that they will extend the current second season until the 26th of July 12:00 pm PTD. This is to reassure there will be a shorter downtime from Season 2 to Season 3. A few hours later Wild Rift ranked season 3 will officially start on July 26th, 2021 at 15:00 pm PDT.
Riot also said that players might have a couple of display issues for the first 24 hours. The reasoning behind this is the company’s plan to start the season before the full release of Patch 2.4. But before launching a patch Riot likes to update its backend systems. However, this might cause players to get “desynced” from the rank system.
Additionally, the company also has some new changes to the rank system in general that might impact the rank progression as well. Nevertheless, after downloading the newest app version from either the App Store or the Google Play Store, Riot assures the problem will be fixed.
Wild Rift ranked Season 3 will come with a lot of changes and new rewards and will stay until late October
Coming along with the new season are all players’ rank resets and a new Wild Pass. There is no information about the upcoming Wild Pass skin, but the Wild Rift team has listened to the community’s changes they wish for about the Wild Pass. However, there is no information about those changes as well but Riot will probably announce them closer to the third seasons’s release.
As of now the Wild Pass, which was launched in the second Wild Rift season, contains 50 levels of rewards with a set of missions the players have to solve to upgrade their Pass Level. The level contains rewards consisting of emotes, bubbles, Poro coins and Blue Motes with the high prices being a random skin chest and the Wild Pass Skin.
Players were criticizing the smaller rewards of being not enough and not a good reason to invest in the elite version of the Wild Pass.
Riot Games did not give a lot of new news about the upcoming Wild Pass. But in their latest dev diary the company has at least revealed the upcoming Rank Reward skin which will have the same theme as the last skin. The champion chosen for getting the skin is Lulu, a support character. For receiving the Glorious Lulu skin players have to reach the Gold rank and win a total of 10 rank matches in Wild Rift ranked season 2.
