One of the biggest mobile gaming firms in the market, Wildlife Studios, has launched Moon Tavern Games, its sixth independent studio, as part of its ongoing effort to be the best environment for the world’s best game developers. In 2021, Wildlife’s first independent studio, Never Forget Games, was established. Three other studios, SuperWow! Games, Foxbear Games, and Playabit, then followed.
Moon Tavern Games to join Wildlife Studio’s impressive list of affiliated studios
Respected industry professionals Justin Jones and Marta Velasco will serve as the company’s leaders. Jones served as the creative director of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, EA‘s largest mobile game, which currently brings in more than $1.3 billion. Jones is completely committed to advancing the gaming industry while drawing enormous inspiration from the past.
“We’re bringing the nostalgia, meaning, and craft of classic RPGs and adventure games to the modern magic of mobile technology,” said Jones. “We’re thinking about the genre differently because mobile gives us a unique opportunity to immerse players who love exploring new worlds and connect with each other in a way that the platform has barely scratched the surface of. We want to spark a renaissance on the platform, appealing to classic gamers who are underserved by the trending options in the market now.”
Co-founder Velasco, a skilled Product Design Leader and former UX/UI Director at Scopely, was a member of the award-winning teams behind the Top Eleven: Be a Football Manager and Words with Friends franchises before joining Moon Tavern Games Studio.
Added Velasco, “We want our games to touch hearts and minds and bring fellow adventurers together any time they have a few minutes to play. We’re not looking to port old games into new devices, we want to reshape the meaning from old experiences into the new patterns of play. And at Wildlife, we have the freedom and autonomy to create our own game worlds.”
With its own value proposition, Wildlife has been successful in luring outstanding talent to each of its five studios. In order to free up studio heads to concentrate on what matters most—making great games—Wildlife gives them access to its publishing platform, game modules, technical services, devoted personnel, and administrative support.
