Garena Fantasy Town review: Experience a fun and unique farming simulator

Start farming and building your own kingdom in the fantasy town

Garena Fantasy Town is a farming simulator created by the folks behind FreeFire and Call of Duty Mobile. This is the first farming simulation game for Garena. The game is a free-to-play title with some in-app purchases. It is available on both Android and iOS. The game was first released in a few selected regions and gearing up for a global launch in 2022. The game will be distributed by gamigo and Arumgames while Garena will be publishing the game in Asia. Here in this article, we will review Garena Fantasy Town and share our first impressions of the game.

A horde of trolls has invaded the town. It is the lord’s duty to protect the citizens of the town from evil trolls and build the town and farm back to its glory. On the surface, the game looks like a farming simulator but after some time the game brings in some unique attributes to it. Players can also discover various places across the game from old mines to magical forests. These places contain special rewards which can be used for leveling up and upgrading the town.

Build and manage your fantasy town with buildings from diverse cultures

Starting off with the Garena Fantasy Town review, players have to build and manage the town. There are various types of buildings and decorations which players can choose from. Players can choose from different types of builds from around the world. They can choose decorations from different cultures.

Players can also upgrade the existing build to yield more produce. They can also recruit different citizens who can help with different things. Players can also update the buildings such as the bakery and chicken farm to produce more yield. By selling their produce players can earn gold which can be later used for upgrading and decorating the town.

Harvest crops, pet animals and protect your town from the evil trolls

As the game title suggests this is a farming simulator. The goal of the players is to harvest crops to fulfill the needs of the citizens and sell the crops for leveling up. There are a variety of crops that players can purchase. In the beginning, the players are given wheat which they have to harvest.

But as they gradually level up more crops such as corn will be unlocked. These crops can again be used for a variety of things from making them into bread to selling them. Players can sell their crops to different shops such as Dragon, Whale, and Elephant shops.

The game doesn’t stop from harvesting crops but also features animal farming. Players can have their own animal farms such as chickens, cows, roosters, and many more. Players can utilize the product on the farm and transform them into commodities. The town is filled with trolls who kidnap citizens. Recruit citizens and join forces with them to destroy evil trolls and protect the town. Players can also join forces with other players and can raid bosses for more rewards.

Customize your character and team up with your pals in the guild

Apart from farming, building, and protecting the town players can also join together with other players. Players can form guilds which work very similar to the clan system from Clash of Clans. They can also raid legendary monsters with their guildmates. Players can also visit other players’ towns and help them out as well. There are minigames in which players can compete with each other. It also features a leaderboard.

citizen management

There are different minigames from snakes to crossroads which players can play. Players can also chat with anyone using the World chat as well. Players can customize their character however they want. There are plenty of cosmetics to choose from. Players can buy different hair, outfits, and sets using the in-game currency. The adorable blocky art style compliments well with the in-game cosmetics.

Final Verdict

Garena Fantasy town is one of the most complete farming simulations out there. From farming to crops to animals. There are plenty of crops and animals to farm. These products can be used to create different commodities. There is a shop where players can sell their harvest for in-game money. The best thing about this game is that it doesn’t stop at just being a farming simulator but adds more features to it.

The game is very simple and easy to understand even with so many different mechanics. The guild system is really good, especially the legendary monster raids. The game always has something to do, unlike other similar games in this genre. The minigames in the game are super fun to play while waiting for builds to get upgraded. The game’s graphics and the art style are really refreshing to look at. Though inspired by Minecraft‘s blocky style it really plays out well for this game.

There are two major in-game currencies. The game isn’t littered with microtransactions, unlike the other Garena game Free Fire. There is a significant waiting time for the builds to get completed. This process can be made quickly using gems that can be bought with real money. There are ways to earn gems in-game but it requires a lot of grinding. If you have a little patience you can avoid the pay-to-win aspect of the game. Overall it is a good farm simulation game with great visuals but tests your patience.
