Rainbow Six Mobile Wall Guide: Types of walls and tips to use them

Take advantage of those walls!

Story Highlights
  • The walls in Rainbow Six Mobile aren't just for visual effects, they have a strategic edge to them.
  • So learn how to make the best use of the walls in Rainbow Six Mobile and use them to your advantage.

In Rainbow Six Mobile, you need to do more than spray bullets haphazardly at each other to win the match. Why? Because every round is a tactical standoff where walls, floors, and ceilings act as both protection and opportunity. Unlike many shooters where cover stays simple, this game allows you to break, reinforce, and manipulate structures to gain the upper hand.

That’s exactly why understanding walls is fundamental to mastering the game. Whether you’re attacking a bomb site or defending it with your life, knowing which walls to destroy, reinforce, or leave intact can completely change the flow of a round.

In this Rainbow Six Mobile Wall Guide, we’ll break down every wall type in the game and show you how to use them tactically as both an attacker and a defender. Also, read our Beginners Guide, Operator Guide, and Gameplay Tips Guide, for a strong start. And our Customer Support article is here if you need help.

What are Walls in Rainbow Six Mobile

Walls in Rainbow Six Mobile are more than simple objects occupying every corner. They act as elements that shape strategy, positioning, and line-of-sight. Some walls crumble under pressure, others stand firm unless properly breached, and a few simply refuse to break at all.

Because of this variety, you must approach each surface with intention. Charging blindly into a room without understanding wall types often leads to quick elimination. However, when you identify which walls are soft, reinforced, or completely impenetrable, you gain control over the tempo of the round.

Additionally, other surfaces, such as floors and ceilings, expand gameplay beyond breaching walls in firefights. The floors and ceilings add another layer of complexity, forcing players to think not just left and right, but above and below. In short, walls define engagements in Rainbow Six Mobile. Now let’s break down each type and learn how to use them properly.

Types of Walls in Rainbow Six Mobile and How to Use Them

Soft Walls

Soft walls are typically wooden-textured surfaces that you can penetrate with bullets or melee hits. When you shoot or strike them, you create small peepholes. However, these walls don’t fully collapse just from gunfire or simple melee hits. Instead, they retain most of their structure unless you use specific gadgets or operator abilities.

How to Use Soft Walls as an Attacker

First, use melee hits or controlled fire to create peek holes. These small openings allow you to gather intel without fully exposing yourself. Instead of entering a room blindly, you can check common defender positions safely.

Second, apply pressure with soft breachers. Operators like Ash, Sledge, and Buck excel at opening larger sections of soft walls. For example:

  • Sledge can repeatedly use his hammer to create sizeable openings.
  • Buck can use his shotgun to shred surfaces quickly.
  • Frag grenades and breach charges also open up soft structures effectively.

By creating new entry points, you disrupt defensive setups and force defenders to reposition.

How to Use Soft Walls as a Defender

Surprisingly, defenders also benefit from destroying soft walls. While it may feel counterintuitive to destroy your own cover, you can create small peephole holes to catch attackers off guard. If you hear attackers planting or setting up outside, a quick line-of-sight through a soft wall can turn the fight in your favor.

Breachable Floors and Ceilings

Floors and ceilings can also function as soft surfaces. And this introduces a new way of catching foes off guard in gameplay. And by that, I mean it allows for vertical play, which allows attackers or defenders to apply pressure from above or below a bomb site.

Using Breachable Floors and Ceilings as an Attacker

If you know defenders are anchoring inside a room, attacking from directly above creates chaos. For instance:

  • Sledge can hammer open sections of the floor above the site.
  • Buck can shoot upward from below, destroying the ceiling.

As a result, defenders must watch multiple angles at once. Instead of focusing solely on doors and windows, they must also worry about bullets raining down from unexpected angles. This added pressure often forces defenders out of strong positions.

Using Breachable Floors and Ceilings as a Defender

Defenders can also exploit Breachable Floors and Ceilings. They can surprise attackers by shooting upward or downward through soft flooring. However, always remain cautious. If you notice attackers heading to an ambush, reposition accordingly and avoid predictable spots.

Hatches

Hatches are specific floor or ceiling panels that attackers can fully breach to create a passable opening. Unlike general soft floors, hatches serve as direct entry points.

As an Attacker

Soft-breaching a hatch creates a dramatic shift in positioning. Instead of funneling through heavily defended doors, you can drop directly into the site or a critical room. This forces defenders to divide attention between obvious entry points and vertical threats.

Hard breachers like Thermite and Hibana excel when reinforced hatches are present. Opening these hatches often creates immediate pressure.

Reinforced Walls

Reinforced walls are soft walls upgraded with metal plating. Once reinforced, they become bulletproof and immune to standard soft-breach tools. Only hard breachers like Thermite and Hibana can open them effectively.

As a Defender

Reinforcing walls is one of your most important responsibilities. By reinforcing key entry points, you limit attackers to predictable routes. This bottleneck effect makes it easier to hold crossfires and defend angles. Additionally, reinforced walls prevent attackers from creating unexpected lines-of-sight. This stability allows you to control engagements rather than react to sudden openings.

As an Attacker

When facing reinforced walls, identify hard breach opportunities early. Use drones to locate reinforcements and coordinate with your hard breacher. Opening even one reinforced wall can dismantle a defensive setup. Suddenly, defenders lose their safe anchor positions and must adapt quickly.

Unbreakable Walls

Unbreakable walls cannot be destroyed or penetrated by any means. These walls create guaranteed cover and serve as reliable anchors for positioning. So use impenetrable walls as a stable back cover. When holding an angle, position yourself so at least one side remains protected by these solid surfaces.
