Genshin Impact has teamed up with Universal Beijing Resort once again, this time with a full interactive themed area based on the game’s world. Titled “Operation Bang Bang! A Festive Celebration,” the experience opened on March 20, 2026, and is built around the in-game festival Ludi Harpastum.
If you’ve played Genshin, this is basically Mondstadt brought into a real-world setting. The layout, props, and even small details are designed to match what you see in-game, so it’s not just themed around the title, but it also will aim to recreate that familiar feel.
Characters like Klee and Varka appear and interact with visitors
One of the more interesting parts is how characters are handled. You don’t just see them for photos; a few Genshin characters appear around the park and interact with visitors in what the makers call “theatrical interactions”.

There are also small story moments happening as you walk around. For example, if you follow certain paths, you’ll catch bits of a storyline where Klee and Fischl are planning a surprise for Varka, which adds a bit more engagement to your visit than just walking through a set.
The Cat’s Tail tavern is recreated, and instead of leaving it empty, they’ve added robotic cats that move around and behave like real fur ones. Food is another area where they’ve tried to stay close to the game, where items like Mondstadt Hash Brown and Apple Cider are made available.
This isn’t the first time Genshin has worked with Universal Beijing Resort either. Last year, from March to June, it had a themed interactive restaurant collaboration called “Banquet of Brilliant Blossoms”.

This year, the new setup goes a lot further with exploration, interactions, and small story elements built into the experience. If you are interested in making a visit, you have time till the 31st of May, 2026, to do so.
