The community has been an integral part of the Pokémon experience and fans acknowledged that with support for the community. However now, after 7 years of service, Niantic and the Silph Road community are reportedly parting ways. The whole year has been a very eventful year for the developers as many fans of the community expressed their disappointment regarding the current state of the game.

Although the Pokémon GO community remains active, a portion of players are frustrated, upset, and disappointed with the current state of the game. An official note from the community’s side stated that Silph Road managed to stay ad-free for the past years due to Niantic’s sponsorship.

The text also reveals that the only solution the site team members found was to shut down the project because it will not be possible to cover the high costs. The community is expected to end the services between March and August, post which the community won’t be accessible.

The past year has been an eventful one for the players and the community in both a positive and negative manner. While the developers added many new events and challenges to the game, the players complained about various bugs and changes that developers made to these events during the regular course of the year.
