  • GamingonPhone's editorial team shares their favorite mobile games!

2025 has been a whirlwind year for mobile gaming, packed with massive launches and unexpected updates. But beyond the scores and the reviews, there are the games we play when the workday is over, the ones we can’t stop thinking about. From long-awaited homecomings to the daily grinds we eventually left behind, here are the favorite Mobile Games of GamingonPhone Staff in 2025.

In this special editorial, the GamingonPhone team takes a moment to look back at the personal favourites.

Abdulsalam Yusuf (Staff Writer)

Without a doubt, NetEase Games completely stole my heart with their MMORPG titles this year. And my favorite mobile game of 2025 was easily Where Winds Meet. It completely absorbed me with its breathtaking open world and the freedom to truly explore the map to my heart’s desire.

I also spent a good amount of time with NetEase’s Destiny: Rising, which impressed me with its character kits and satisfying story. Finally, I have to shout out to BLEACH: Soul Resonance for bringing one of my favorite anime to the palm of my hands. Still, Where Winds Meet stood above everything else for me this year.

Anirban Ganguly (Staff Writer)

I must say that 2025 for me was full of trying new genres and underrated titles. Titles like Mo.co and Pokémon TCGP played some decent cameos in my gaming portfolio. However, the one that grabbed most of my gaming screen time this year was Marvel Snap, which kept me hooked until the very last day of 2025.

I also made a comeback in eFootball and really enjoyed some dribbles and dashes during my leisure hours.

As always, my gaming journey for the year would not be complete without the very obvious Battlegrounds Mobile India. However, the old vibe isn’t quite there anymore, and it accounted for the least amount of my gaming hours this year. That said, this doesn’t mean it will be dethroned from my list of favourite games of 2025.

Dipanjan Chakraborty (Staff Writer)

My most enjoyed and played mobile game for this year was Limbus Company. Thanks to it’s engaging story that made me think about things I never cared about in my life and how it has a been a bittersweet journey my life has been so far. I will be watching how the game’s story goes and how it finally ends when we are at the end of the adventure.

On the other side, my action side was being fulfilled by Zenless Zone Zero and how it’s great combat system and over the top OSTs were a chef’s kiss. The story was good enough for me to not gloss over either, so that’s something too.

Md Sadequzzaman Sarkar (Staff Writer)

Though action is my go-to genre, I built a good liking for the RPGs in 2025. And the choice was perfect after Game of Thrones: Kingsroad hit the stores. The diverse lore and vast world with stunning graphics caught me in the first few hours that I spent in-game. Do check out the review I wrote!

Besides, it felt soothing to see a mobile adaptation of the TV series I enjoyed the most. And now the 2026 roadmap for Kingsroad promises to bring a ton of things, I think I’ll stick to the title for many days!

Pritam Patra (Staff Writer)

In 2025, I played many games, but my favourite games were Genshin Impact and Where Winds Meet. I have been playing Genshin Impact for the past three years, and it has always amazed me with its lore-rich content, which continually attracts me to the game.

On the other hand, Where Winds Meet impressed me with its stunning graphics, engaging story, and unique combat style. I also played Wuthering Waves, Solo Leveling: Arise, Honkai: Star Rail, and Strinova, but none of them entertained me as consistently as Genshin Impact and Where Winds Meet.

Parash Jyoti Kalita (Staff Writer)

Although, I tried a lot of games in 2025 across different genres from RPGs to shooters, I somehow ended up playing MOBAs the most yet again. I have this love-hate relationship with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and after taking quite a long break from ranked, I finally hit Immortal this year.

Even though there were some stressful matches, I just don’t get the same satisfactory feeling elsewhere. The collaborations were great too, and I managed to collect a good amount of skins, from Naruto and Sasuke to Terry Bogard and more.

Another title I enjoyed this year was Honor of Kings, which my friends initially forced me to try. I only solo pushed till Diamond before switching to MLBB again, but the experience was great. That aside, it looks like MLBB will be my top game yet again, continuing the streak since 2019.

Dada Joseph-John (Staff Writer)

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang easily stands out as my best mobile game of 2025. Among all the numerous events and collaborations, the MLBB x Naruto collaboration stands out the most, leaving me wanting more.

I also juggle between other MOBA games such as Honor of Kings, Pokémon Unite, and League of Legends: Wild Rift! When not playing my usual MOBA games, I enjoy testing out new decks in Clash Royale. Still, whenever I want pure competitive action, MLBB remains my go-to choice this year.

Saurabh Shetty (Editor)

As a die-hard eFootball fan, 2025 has been a massive year for my “Dream Team.” While I constantly rotate between EA Sports FC Mobile, Dream League Soccer, and WCC3 to get my competitive fix, nothing beats the tactical depth of Konami’s pitch.

Even though I occasionally dive into the management side with Football Manager Mobile, my heart remains with the 1v1 grind in eFootball.

Chirag Chaudhury (Editor)

I really enjoyed playing eFootball Mobile this year, just like every year, because the consistent stream of content updates has truly refined the experience. The gameplay feels smoother and more realistic than ever, with refined ball physics and smarter AI making every match feel unique.

While the odds of packing your favorite “Epic” or “Big Time” player remain notoriously difficult, that scarcity is exactly what makes the grind so rewarding.

Tousif Hasan Biswas (Editor-in-Chief)

After nearly eight years away, I finally returned to Clash of Clans this year. And I was shocked to find it more engaging than ever. The “Clash Anywhere” update has been a total game-changer, making the gameplay loop feel modern, fast, and super fun!

And not mention, Clash of Clans won “Best IP Collaboration Of The Year” Award at the GamingonPhone Awards 2025 for its legendary crossover with the WWE universe.

Other than that, I spent time on-and-off with titles like Wuthering Waves, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, and Vampirio. I even spent a significant amount of time grinding moco, though I eventually dropped it.
