The PUBG Mobile esports scene in Vietnam saw a fantastic tournament tonight, with a new champion emerging. After a three-day battle among the 16 finalist teams in the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Vietnam Spring 2022, BOX Gaming emerged as the champion. This is the second time the squad has sat on the throne, following the first edition of the competition.
BOX Gaming qualified for the PMPL SEA Championship Spring 2022 as the event’s champion. The regional final will take place in June 2022 and will send teams to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022, the game’s biggest esports event.
PMPL VN Spring 2022: BOX Gaming’s journey to the top
The regular week’s runner-up was BOX Gaming. The top 16 teams from the regular week competed in the finals, which began on April 15th, 2022. Champion BOX Gaming finished the first day as the table topper with 37 elimination points. In Sanhok, the squad obtained a WWCD. The next three teams were BN United, Eagle Esport, and Talent Esport.
BOX Gaming maintained its lead on the second day and finished first once more. Powerhouse D’Xavier, on the other hand, made a spectacular comeback to finish in the top three. On the final day of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: League East, the runner-up made a strong push for first place. However, they only managed to overtake BN United for second place.
As a result, BOX Gaming was crowned the event’s champion with 265 total points. With a total of 244, D’Xavier remained in second place, while BN rounded out the top three. The DX Lamborghini was named the season’s MVP. The prize pool for this tournament was announced to be around $88,500. Each team received a fair share based on their final placement. The top three will now focus on the regional professional scene, while the fourth through sixth will compete in the play-ins.
