Garena confirms Free Fire MAX is not coming to esports competition any time soon

The game will be used to spectate and stream the esports events

While Garena‘s Free Fire is breaking the internet and market records now and then, Free Fire MAX, a graphically enhanced version of Free Fire, was released globally on September 28 this year. As a better and smoother version has come out, the competitive esports scene was ready to receive the title, though there wasn’t any official confirmation. As of now, Garena speaks finally regarding incorporating Free Fire MAX in esports.

In an email sent to Dot Esports, the developer said “There are no immediate plans for Free Fire MAX to be included for esports tournaments. Currently, players will compete in official tournaments with the Free Fire application.”

Free Fire MAX: Old wine in a new bottle

The enhanced version of Free Fire lies in its graphic work. The details in graphics quality are impressive as they will boost the game experience, adding more fun to play. Besides, enhanced weapons and bullet physics included in the game are certainly promising. Both the games are interconnected with each other by offering players to use the same account on both versions of the game and also they’ll be able to play together. While some key differences do exist, the base fact remains that the game is essentially the original Free Fire with better graphics and presentation.

Free Fire MAX is not coming to esports soon

As Free Fire MAX is not coming to esports soon, Garena will be using the game to spectate the matches in esports events. It will offer viewers to have a better experience because of its enhanced graphics and details. Garena didn’t disclose any exact reason behind their decision. Excluding a better gameplay experience, Free Fire MAX doesn’t have any advantages in the competitive arena. But there’s a high possibility to use Free Fire MAX in competitive events.

Free Fire is confined in some particular parts of the world, especially in developing countries, because of a low specifications requirement. So, to expand the market of the game, Garena brought the new enhanced version of Free Fire.
