Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s Professional League, better known as MPL has been going on in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore for 3 years now. Recently, MPL MY-SG announced that they will continue onward with their 6th season as MPL-MY. With the announcement, Singapore will host Season 1 of the Mobile Legends Professional League under MPL-SG.
Tournament Format
Similar to the setup of MPL-PH, MPL-SG opened their arms and had over 100 Singaporean teams register and fight it out in elimination-style qualifiers over the weekend. Teams are grouped into blocks of 8, where they will face off against each other. The winner of each of the blocks will then be placed in a lower-bracket, upper-bracket system after matching up with each other. From there, the winners of each bracket will receive an invitation to participate in the first season of MPL-SG, joining 6 other invited teams.

Final thoughts
Moving to host their own league, MPL-SG is certainly making the right first step to developing an already massive MLBB Esports community in Singapore. Looking forward to the start of the regular season in March, teams will have to do research on their opponents, train together with their teammates, and psyche themselves up to be ready for the upcoming challenge. Until then, be sure to keep in touch, and stay posted.
