With the PUBG Mobile Esports scenario expanding rapidly, the past weekend has seen the conclusion of two of the Western Pro League Finals. With the team of Next Ruya Gaming becoming the champions of PMPL Turkey, the second tournament has been concluded in the CIS region. Team Unique from Russia has been crowned as the inaugural champions of the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Season 1 CIS Finals. Similar to the Turkish Pro League, the CIS also hosted its first edition of Pro League this year. The team’s roster comprises the five players of Milkyway, Ahajlu3, FROZEN, MIND, KOMPOT which beat the odds of Natus Vincere and Konina Power for becoming the champions.
Being regularly featured in the regional tournaments since its introduction, the team had won the PMCO Spring Split and Fall Split and PMCO Star Challenge in the year 2019. After releasing some of its members in 2019, it wasn’t a successful year for the team as they lost their top spot to the newly-formed Natus Vincere. But, this year has started in the right way for the team.
PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Season 1 CIS Finals: As it happened
The league has ended in a very close and dramatic manner. In 3 days of play, 18 rounds of matches played. The champions secured 200 total points, 118 placement points, with 82 kills and 3 Chicken Dinners. Team 1218 was at a close second with a shortage of 7 points. The team had a total of 193 points, 103 placement points with 90 kills and 3 Chicken Dinners. Natus Vincere, the defending champions ended third in the finals. With their aggressive play, the team had secured the most number of kills (96 kills) but fell short in terms of placement points which was 85 points and 1 Chicken Dinner. Since Natus Vincere had already secured their slot as the champions of the EMEA 2020 League. The next spot was given to Team Konina Power who had secured the fourth spot with 177 points. They will be moving to the PMPL Season 1 EMEA Finals.
MVP
FROZEN from Team Unique was declared as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. The player has secured 34 kills alone in the finals and bagged an additional $1,000.
Prize Pool
The EMEA Pro League Finals featured an amount of $55,000 as the prize pool. Team Unique won an amount of $10,000 as the champions whereas Team 1218 bagged the runners-up prize of $6,500, Natus Vincere took $5,000 as being the second runners-up and at last Team Konina Power secured their EMEA finals spot and took away a sum of $4,000. The rest amount was spread among the remaining teams.

PMPL EMEA is the next stage
The qualified teams are now a step closer to qualifying for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship. As they’ll fight against the top teams from Africa, Arabia, Turkey and Western Europe who will compete in the league, having the same goal in mind. The EMEA Finals has been scheduled to be held on 17th-20th June. The teams are yet to be announced for the tournament.
