PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2024: Invited Teams, Prize Pool and more

A new chapter in PUBGM Esports is beginning!

The organizers at KRAFTON have now unveiled the complete details for the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2024, which is supposed to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will be a part of the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024, which will feature various mobile games and top athletes around the world in an engaging battle to find out the best of all. Featuring 24 teams across the various regions of SEA, CSA, EMEA and The Americas, a huge amount of USD 3,000,000 prize pool is at stake.

PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2024: Participating Teams

As announced in the official Esports roadmap on the 8th of December, 2023, this tournament is the mid-season international event of the whole season. Earlier known as the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI), the last edition saw Vampire Esports emerge as the champions. From the total of 39 announced partner teams, only the top 24 teams will make it to this event.

The event will see five teams from Southeast Asia, four teams from Central and South Asia, four teams from EMEA, three teams from The Americas, two teams from China, one from South Korea, and one from Japan. The event will also feature the victorious team of the PUBG Mobile Rivals Cup (PMRC) Korea vs Japan tournament along with two specially invited teams. Lastly, the champions of the PUBG Mobile Global Open 2024 will finish the list of the participating teams.

PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2024: Tournament Format

Group Stage and Survival Stage

24 teams will go head-to-head with each other in the group stage of the tournament. From this competition, there will be 12 teams that will make their way to the next round, which is the Main Stage Event.

The bottom 12 teams will go down to a Survival Stage, which will additionally bring in 4 new participants in the mix, invited from the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL). This means one team from each region’s PMSL tournament, namely SEA, Americas, CSA and EMEA will make it here. These sixteen teams will fight out for a final slot of 4 places in the Main Stage event.

Main Stage

With the 4 top teams from the Survival Stage finalized, there will be 16 teams battling out for the main prize pool. Along with top talents from Southeast Asia, the partner program at KRAFTON will now feature new teams from CSA, Americas, and EMEA in the picture. There will be more teams announced in the future.

The organizers at PUBG Mobile Esports aim to bring the old competition of PMWI to a new level, with teams across the world having the opportunity to make it big at the biggest Esports stage for mobile games. Level Infinite, Tencent’s global gaming brand, has also announced a 3-year partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation to drive the PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings esports ecosystems forward.
