Qing Jiu Club wins the COD Mobile Masters China Season 2 Finals

Off to Stage 5 of COD Mobile World Championship 2021!

The COD Mobile Masters China Season 2 Finals has come to an end with Qing Jiu Club (Q9) lifting the champion trophy. The chinese esports team beat FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) by a solid 4-0 margin in the Grand Finals. Winning the championship also granted them a ticket to the COD Mobile World Championship 2021 Stage 5, the year finale event of Call Of Duty Mobile esports.

Organized by Tencent, COD Mobile Masters China Season 2 is an offline event that held its Group Stage play in Nanxiang Zhidi Industrial Park, Shanghai and the Playoffs were staged at Beijing University Gymnasium. Starting on 31st July 2021 the event took place for over two months and came to an end on 16th October 2021.

Both the finalists, Qing Jiu Club and FPX faced for the second time in the grand finals of the just-concluded event. However, the first time they faced wasn’t in favor of the latter team and the same happened in the finals. FunPlus Phoenix, though, managed to make the scoreline 4-1 in winners’ round two, they couldn’t build any resistance against Qing Jiu Club in the finals.

Before the finals, the champions advanced to the finals by defeating Douyu Gaming by 4-1. On the other hand, FPX had to play three matches on the losers’ bracket after losing the match against Qing Jiu Club in the Grand Finals. The champion team finished being third in the previous edition of the event and this time, they’re going home with the champion’s title and a good amount of prize pool.

The COD Mobile Masters China Season 2 featured a huge amount of ¥3,000,000 ($457,860) as the prize pool. Being the champion, Qing Jiu Club won a massive share of ¥1,200,000 ($186,579) along with booking the slot in COD Mobile World Championship 2021 Stage 5. On the other hand, the runner-up team, FunPlus Phoenix, won ¥600,000 ($93,300), and the third-place team that is Douyu Gaming takes ¥300,000 ($46,700) home. The runner-up team, FPX, though, lost out on the trophy, it has more reasons to become happy. With 75 Masters China Championship Points, they also booked a slot in the World Championship 2021 along with the champions.
