- Fortnite has officially returned to the App Store worldwide on iPhone and iPad.
- Australia remains excluded despite Epic previously winning legal battles there.
Fortnite has confirmed yet another return, but this time, it isn’t just regional but is officially back on the App Store worldwide for iPhone and iPad users. This can be considered yet another win for Epic Games’ long-running battle against Apple over App Store policies and payment systems.
You can unlock the Yeddy Outfit by leveling up in Fortnite
Epic Games confirmed the return on May 19, 2026, alongside a new in-game reward campaign where you can unlock the Yeddy Outfit by jumping into the game and leveling up. In its official statement, Epic made it very clear that this return is tied directly to the ongoing legal and regulatory pressure Apple is facing globally.
Epic believes governments around the world may eventually push harder against what it calls Apple’s “junk fees” and restrictive App Store practices, citing examples from Japan, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, with even Brazil joining, although this global App Store return does not include Australia for now.
According to Epic, Apple continues enforcing terms that Epic considers unlawful, and unless Apple changes those payment conditions or courts intervene again, Fortnite will remain unavailable on iOS in Australia.
Back in May 2025, Fortnite finally ended its nearly five-year iOS exile with a return to the US App Store, although things immediately became complicated again after Apple temporarily blocked Epic’s submissions shortly after.

Then in August 2025, Epic secured another major legal victory in Australia, paving the way for Fortnite’s eventual return there, although that process is still unfinished today.
December 2025 also marked Fortnite’s major Android comeback in the United States after a long absence, while March 2026 saw Epic and Google finally settle their dispute, allowing Fortnite to return to Google Play worldwide too.
