After some exhilarating battles throughout the battlegrounds of PUBG Mobile, Season 1 of the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) MENA and SA Championship 2021 has come to an end with Rico Infinity being declared as the winner. The team accumulated a total of 50 kills, resulting in 130 points in total. The Nepali dark horse DRS GAMING became the runner-up while Stalwart Esports finished in the top three.
PMPL MENA and SA Championship Season 1 2021: Rico Infinity’s journey to becoming the winner
The top 16 teams from the league stage fight in 10 matches. DRS started with a chicken dinner and finished the tournament with another. Rico showed a great comeback in the last four matches by winning two chicken dinners and securing the third position in the other twos. However, the last two matches were breathtaking and filled with thrilling and nail-biting moments.
Rico finished the last match with third position and zero kills while DRS took a massive 15 kills chicken dinner. But it couldn’t save their back and the team lost the trophy by a small margin of 3 points. Before the finals, the champion team qualified for finals being fourth where Stalwart Esports was the league champion.
PMPL MENA and SA Championship Season 1 2021: Prize pool
Being the champion, Rico Infinity wins $40,000 whereas the second and the third-placed team, DRS GAMING, and Stalwart Esports took $28,000 and $18,000 respectively.
Action from Stalwart Esports became the MVP of the event. Showing an exceptional performance by securing 18 frags in 10 matches, he was a great help for his team. Thus, $2000 went to his pocket.
PMGC 2021 qualified teams
Two of the finalists, DRS Gaming and Nigma Galaxy, already had a slot through their respective PMGC Points. As both the teams finished in the top four, the next best performing teams Cryptics and Deadeyes Guys qualified for PMGC 2021. The four qualified teams are as follows.

- Deadeyes Guys
Final thoughts
This is so far the biggest achievement for the Saudi Arabian team. Fighting with strong teams from the SA region and becoming champions to qualify for the PMGC 2021 is not an easy journey. The team showed their worth along with sending a message to the other participants that they won’t quit early.
