Ares Interactive and AMC Global Media have announced their new F2P roguelite title, The Walking Dead: Aftermath, set to launch on both Android and iOS in summer 2026. Developed by Ares’ Swift Games studio, the same team behind Heroes vs. Hordes, this game is based on the massively popular TV series, The Walking Dead.

So, The Walking Dead: Aftermath feels like a fresh take on the beloved universe, being the first roguelite survival entry in the series. Here, you can join in as iconic survivors like Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne, as they battle through relentless walker herds, hostile enemies, and even bosses.
Lore-wise, the journey begins on the outskirts of Atlanta, where survival is hard in this changed world. But as you move forward, you can scavenge supplies, upgrade your survivors, and take on challenging threats, with every run being very risky yet rewarding as you can grow stronger.

Now, I’m liking the campaign missions since it brings back familiar locations like Hershel’s Farm, Woodbury, Alexandria, and more. And, along the way, you’ll find new survivors joining your camp, each coming with unique abilities. And with them, you can build defenses, unlock talents, and carefully plan your path to survive.
Overall, the game looks very promising to me, and as a fan of the series, I’m excited to try it this Summer. I mean, it perfectly blends fast-paced roguelite action with survivor strategy and base-building, so I’m sure it’ll be fun. And the positive Play Store ratings from the soft launch only make me more excited to play it soon.
