Riot Korea announced the latest invitational tournament just after the Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 has ended. The WCK Pre-season Invitational 2022 will feature current WCK teams along with new teams qualified through this WCK Invitational. Starting from the last week of December, the event will run till the first week of January 2022. This also confirms that the WCK will remain the highest competitive event for Wild Rift in Korea.
2022 WCK Pre-season Invitational: Everything we know so far
The event has a big prize pool for the teams to fight for. A whopping 50 million won will be given to the teams. Application is currently ongoing for the event. A process which started on the 26th of this month, the recruitment period will remain active till December 5. If they want to, interested teams can register here.
Preliminary application and competition eligibility include some requirements to be fulfilled by the players. They need to be in Diamond or higher rank and aged over 16. A team has to have 5 players who have an account in their name on the Korean server are allowed to apply.
The preliminary round will be a two-day event, starting from December 11. The final group stage will run for four days from December 27 to December 31. Except for the playoffs and the finals, the rest will be held online. The two-day playoff will run from the first of January to the second. Organized by Riot Games and VSPN, V. SPACE Esports Arena will host the offline round.
Riot Korea announced the WCK in 2021 which was the first Korean regional circuit competition to compete for a place in the Wild Rift International Competition. And, adding the pre-season invitational will light up more spark in the competitive scene in Korea and the fans will get to watch new powerhouses coming in as well.
