The top-tier domestic event of Free Fire Esports in Vietnam concluded with a new champion on the throne. Team Flash has grabbed the Vietnam Free Fire League Spring Series 2022 (VFL), the second season of the top-tier event of Free Fire. Winning the championship had confirmed a slot in the most competitive event of Free Fire Esports, the Free Fire World Series 2022.
The champion, on their way to lifting the trophy, collected a total of 126 points with 40 frags in 7 matches. The team won four BOOYAHs, while the runner-up V Gaming picked up 117 total points, without winning a single BOOYAH. V Gaming, however, took the highest 46 kills among all. The championship not only brought the trophy but also was awarded a share of the prize money to the top two teams. Moreover, both the teams qualified for the Free Fire World Series 2022.
Free Fire 2022 (VFL) Spring Series: V Gaming showcased a respectable performance
Team Flash started the event as a champion, as the team took the first match home. The next one was taken by Heavy. However, nothing could set up any trouble for the champions, because of their consistent plays. Though the lobby was dominated by V Gaming, in terms of picking kills, they could not manage to get to the top.
Champions of the group stage and one of the strongest contenders, HQ Esports, failed to perform well in the grand finals. Thus, the winner of the Asia Championship 2021 will miss the global competition.
VFL 2022 featured a whopping prize pool of $179,058. The champion took a share of the whole amount, which is $39,000, while the runner-up and the third-placed team pocketed $26,000, and $14,456 respectively. The top two teams from the point table will represent Vietnam on the global stage. The event started on the 18th of February, 2022, with the best 18 teams in Vietnam.
