Top 5 highest-earning mobile Esports teams in 2022

Find out which mobile esports teams cashed out the most in 2022!

As we all might be aware, Mobile Esports has seen a huge spurt of growth in recent times in both popularity and revenue generated. This has extended beyond the boundaries of just the game and has positively affected the mobile esports ecosystem as well. We have seen huge amounts of money being pumped into several tournaments where the winning teams walked away with a hefty amount of money. In this article, we will take a look at the top 5 highest-earning mobile esports teams of 2022.

Mobile Esports: Top 5 highest-earning teams (2022)

This list has been made keeping in mind the teams, which are mostly focused on mobile games and draw most of their earnings from mobile esports, as a result. Therefore, well-known organizations such as Natus Vincere, Team Secret, FaZe Clan, etc. which participate in PC tournaments as well are not taken into consideration, as most of their earnings are in virtue of PC games. All information is sourced from Esports Earnings and Liquipedia and from official tournament prize pool information.

1. eStar Gaming (China)

  • Total earnings in 2022: $5,704,641

eStar gaming has demolished all its competitors in the mobile Esports scene and has emerged as the most successful team in terms of earnings in 2022. They are a massively successful team in the Chinese region, with most of their trophies and decorations coming from domestic tournaments. They have lineups in multiple games such as Arena of Valor (Honor of Kings in China), Crossfire Mobile, Hearthstone, and Call of Duty Mobile to name a few.

The most successful lineup of eStar is without a doubt their Arena of Valor lineup which earns millions every year. To date, eStar has amassed a whopping amount of over $10 million from just Arena of Valor tournaments alone. Besides their Chinese compatriots Nova, eStars are the only mobile gaming team to feature in the top five highest-earning teams of 2022.

2. Nova Esports (China)

  • Total earnings in 2022: $4,057,319

At number two, who else but Nova Esports? Probably the greatest team in competitive mobile gaming to date, at least when it comes to achievements in S-tier tournaments, popularity, and total money earned, Nova is no stranger to success. They have active rosters in several big titles such as PUBG Mobile (Game For Peace in China), Arena of Valor (Honor of Kings in China), Call of Duty Mobile, Clash Royale, Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, etc.

While Nova is a very well-known name in mobile esports, their most decorated lineup is without a doubt their PUBG Mobile/ Game For Peace one. They hold the record of finishing in the top 2 of every official global tournament they have played in. They are also one of the only two teams dedicated to mobile gaming in the top 5 highest-earning esports teams of 2022.

3. All Gamers (China)

  • Total earnings in 2022: $1,946,608

All Gamers, popularly known as AG is one of the most fan-favorite teams in China and boasts a huge following, which almost always clinches them in any poll, based on public voting. But, they have also proved that they have the skills to back up their immense popularity, as they are the third most successful team in 2022, in terms of earnings from tournaments. They currently participate in PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, Crossfire, and Call of Duty Mobile.

Most of AG’s success seems to come from the game’s Arena of Valor and Crossfire. While Arena of Valor is a pretty self-explanatory name in the world of mobile esports, Crossfire is also a popular title in China and is regarded as the country’s most popular multiplayer FPS game.

4. Team Weibo (China)

  • Total earnings in 2022: $1,779,811

Team Weibo, also known as Weibo Gaming and popularly known as WBG, is often known as the rich kid in the block when it comes to the world of mobile esports. They have been involved in some of the most expensive transfer signings in mobile esports and bought players like Zimo (Arena of Valor/Honor of Kings) and Daquan (PUBG Mobile/Game For Peace) for prices, well exceeding the lump amount of a million dollars.

Their earnings are almost evenly divided between their PUBG Mobile and Arena of Valor divisions, although the PUBG Mobile lineup has a better pedigree. WBG has over a million dollars in earnings in both the games and although they have lineups in other games such as League of Legends: Wild Rift and Hearthstone, they haven’t been much successful at those games.

5. Regans Gaming

  • Total earnings in 2022: $1,725,619

Regans Gaming or as many people call them, RSG is probably the most single-game-centric team in this list. Their fortunes are earned completely off of the back of PUBG Mobile, where they have brilliantly broken through into the scene this year. It is also pertinent to mention that out of their total earnings of $1.8 million, $1.7 million came from this year alone.

Their successful stint began with the arrival of PEL star FlowerC in their team, whereon the team became a force to reckon with and quickly became one of the forerunners to win the league, which they eventually did, therefore completing a fairytale journey from being at the bottom of the table to being a champion. They also have a League of Legends: Wild Rift roster, but it is largely unsuccessful.

Final Thoughts

The biggest takeaway from this list is the absolutely one-sided domination of Chinese organizations in mobile esports. This is even after the gaming community got heavily hit by the age regulations in China, which just goes on to show how well-developed the esports ecosystem of China is. Another noteworthy thing is the recurrence of PUBG Mobile and Arena of Valor as the most valuable esports scenes, sometimes even going toe to toe with PC games in terms of popularity.
