Wild Rift EMEA Championship 2022: Teams, Schedule, where to watch and more

Teams to fight to make it to the Global Championship!

While the Wild Rift Esports scene is growing globally, Riot Games continues to expand the stage for teams from every corner of the world. As a part of Riot Games Esports Roadmap for the competitive year of 2022, the company has announced Wild Rift EMEA Championship 2022, which is the official Wild Rift tournament Riot Games for Europe, Russia, CIS, MENA, and Turkey. The teams will not only compete for a cut of the total prize pool of 300.000€ but also, get the chance to represent EMEA at an international tournament.

The tournament will be hosted for the whole of Europe, Russia, CIS, Turkey and MENA. The tournament will be open to all registered teams, where only a number of 16 teams will make it to the play-offs after the Open Qualifier.

Wild Rift EMEA Championship 2022: Tournament Format

Open Online Qualifier

The initial stage of the event is “The Open Online Qualifier”. Each region will have a separate tournament. Teams will fight each other in the double-elimination bracket. The top 16 teams from each region will advance to playoffs, while, the best team will qualify for the Grand Finals. Teams along with their players must register through this link.

Last Chance Qualifier

This is the final chance for the teams to book a ticket for the Grand Finals. This stage will be held in the March of 2022. Teams will fight in a single-elimination bracket to advance to the next stage. Open online qualifiers will also determine teams that will participate in the last chance qualifier.

Semi-finalist teams that did not qualify for Grand Finals will secure their spot in the Last Chance Qualifier. Three teams from the semifinal stage of the Open Qualifiers will join the top teams from the Last Chance Qualifiers to battle. The top team will advance to the Grand Finals.

The Grand Final includes the top six teams of the tournament. Each region will send two teams for the Grand Finals that are scheduled to be held offline in Barcelona. This stage is divided into two parts, namely the group stage and the play-offs. After facing off in the group stage, the top two teams of each group will advance to the semifinals, later, the finals. The matches will be played in a single-elimination bracket.

Wild Rift EMEA Championship 2022: Participating Teams

The Grand Finals will feature six teams. Five teams have already qualified for the tournament. The roster will be completed by a team from the list below.

  • Game-Lord (WREC EU Champion)
  • NASR Esports (WRREC TR Champion)
  • Rix.GG (WREC EU LCQ)
  • Team Queso (WREC EU LCQ)
  • Parla Esports (WREC TR LCQ)

The Play-Ins will determine the final six, with Formulation Gaming and Unicorns of Love competing for the spot.

Prize Pool

The teams will play for a total prize pool of 300.000€. The breakdown of the prize pool will be revealed later.

Wild Rift EMEA Championship 2022: Where and when to watch

Fans can watch live on Twitch here in English, Spanish and Turkish or on YouTube. They can also watch co-streams hosted by some of the biggest Wild Rift creators across EMEA in 10 different languages on Twitch.

Matches will take place between the 5th of May, 2022 and the 8th of May. The event starts with the Play-In match between Unicorns of Love and Formulation Gaming, before moving into Group Stage matches later that day. The semi-finals and final will take place on the 7th and 8th of May, 2022, respectively.

With a seeding into the most prestigious event of 2022 of Wild Rift Esports, Wild Rift Icons, this Wild Rift EMEA Championship will play a significant role to bring out EMEA powerhouses like NASR Esports, Rix.GG, or Game-Lord. Besides, the event will meet the spectators’ thirst.
