Brawl Stars Jae-yong Guide: Abilities Breakdown
Jae-yong’s Trait
Jae-Yong’s trait charges his Super over time, in very few seconds.
Jae-yong’s Attack: Work Hard, Play Hard
With his main attack, you can shoot a piercing projectile that changes its effect depending on the mode you are in. Plus, the reload speed is quick, and the projectiles travel a long distance.

When you are in Work mode, you deal less damage, but the projectiles create slipstreams, which give you and your teammates a speed boost. In Party mode, you deal good damage, but they also heal your teammates.
Jae-yong’s Super: Mix It Up!
His Mix It Up! Super lets you switch between Work and Party modes, which also changes how his main attack and abilities work to match the mode.

When you switch to Work mode, all nearby teammates receive a temporary movement speed boost, while switching to Party mode, you will heal everyone around you.
Tips for using Jae-yong’s Super
- Try to combo with teammates: You should try to coordinate with teammates who benefit from your Super. Speed boosts are great for Assassins and closed-ranged Brawlers, while tanks and squishy teammates will benefit from healing, to change the momentum of the game.
- Position yourself wisely: Since your Super only affects nearby teammates, make sure you are positioned well, mostly in the middle of your team, or close enough, before you plan to switch your modes.
- Use Work mode after respawns: After your team is wiped out, switch to Work mode to give your teammates a speed boost, to regroup and get back to the objectives quicker without wasting much time.
Brawl Stars Jae-yong Guide: Gadgets and Star Power
Gadget
Weekend Warrior

When activated, you can deal area damage and increase the damage of your primary attack for 5 seconds. This Gadget has a cooldown of 15 seconds.
Time For a Slow Song

By using this Gadget, you can slow down enemy Brawlers around you. Plus, your attacks leave trails of slowing paperwork for 5 seconds. This Gadget has a cooldown of 15 seconds, too.
Star Powers
The Crowd Goes Mild

The Crowd Goes Mild Star Power grants you a 10% speed boost for each teammate nearby, as long as you stay close to them.
Extra High Note

The Star Power, Extra High Note, allows your main attack to deal 20% additional damage for every enemy Brawler it pierces through.
Best Game Modes for Jae-yong
Jae-yong has great potential, with his mode-switching Super, piercing main attack with varied effects, mobility, support abilities, and more. Here are his best game modes, in my opinion:
- Gem Grab: I believe Jae-yong will be a great pick in Gem Grab mode, considering his healing can keep the gem carrier alive during tricky situations, and the speed boost will let you and your team rotate, escape, or go for an aggressive approach.
- Hot Zone: You should try him in Hot Zone. As you will always have your teammates nearby in this mode, you can take advantage of The Crowd Goes Mild Star Power. With his Super, your team can survive longer in the zone, and reposition if you guys are pushed back.
- Brawl Ball: Brawl Ball will be another great mode for Jae-yong. You can switch to Work mode to provide a speed boost to your allies, for faster rotation, or push towards their goal. Moreover, thanks to the Party mode, you can change the momentum by healing your teammates.
Best Brawler Combination with Jae-yong
Jae-yong is a Support Brawler, and he can shine when paired with teammates who can take advantage of his kit. Tanks like Frank or Bull can benefit from your healing and speed boost, since their movement speed is slow. I believe Nita will work well too, as you can heal both her and her Bear.
Max is another good choice if you want double speed boosts, which can make your team super mobile. And Brawlers like Mortis, Edgar, or Buzz can take advantage of your Work mode’s buff. You can experiment with different Brawlers and go with Brawlers that work best with Jae-yong.
Best Gears for Jae-yong in Brawl Stars
Shield Gear

As a Support Brawler that provides various buffs to your team, you have to stay safe in the match to effectively support your team. For this, the Shield Gear is a great choice for Jae-yong, which provides an additional 900 health as a consumable shield that regenerates in 10 seconds when you are at full health.
Damage Gear

Since Jae-yong’s damage isn’t that high, you can benefit from the Damage Gear. By equipping this gear, you can deal an additional 15% damage to your enemies when your HP drops below 50%.
