Genshin Impact: The complete Alhaitham Constellations Guide and Tips

“Admonishing Instruction” Alhaitham is the premier Dendro main DPS in Genshin Impact. He is an event-exclusive 5* character released in the first half of Version 3.4 Update, and he is the first character of his kind in the entire roster. His constellations range from game-changing to rather useless, and this article will provide a breakdown of the value of the constellations of Alhaitham in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Constellations for Alhaitham

Constellation LevelConstellation Effect(s)
C1Intuition

When a Projection Attack hits an opponent, Universality: An Elaboration on Form’s CD is decreased by 1.2s. This effect can be triggered once every 1s.
C2Debate

When Alhaitham generates a Chisel-Light Mirror, his Elemental Mastery will be increased by 50 for 8 seconds, max 4 stacks. Each stack’s duration is counted independently. This effect can be triggered even when the maximum number of Chisel-Light Mirrors has been reached.
C3Negation

Increases the Level of Universality: An Elaboration on Form by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
C4Elucidation

When Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, the following effects will become active based on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors consumed and created this time around. Each Mirror consumed will increase the Elemental Mastery of all other nearby party members by 30 for 15s. Each Mirror generated will grant Alhaitham a 10% Dendro DMG Bonus for 15 s.

The pre-existing duration of the aforementioned effects will be cleared if you use Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena again while they are in effect.
C5Sagacity

Increases the Level of Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
C6Structuration

Alhaitham gains the following effects, which is 2 seconds after Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena is unleashed, he will generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors regardless of the number of mirrors consumed.

If Alhaitham generates Chisel-Light Mirrors when their numbers have already maxed out, his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will increase by 10% and 70% respectively for 6s. If this effect is triggered again during its initial duration, the duration remaining will be increased by 6s.

Genshin Impact: Constellations breakdown for Alhaitham

C1: Intuition

Reduces the cooldown of his skill when Projection attacks hit opponents. This constellation is not very useful since the cooldown is already very long and it does not get decreased by a significant amount to actually affect his gameplay in a positive way.

This constellation could potentially allow him to use his skill twice in the first rotation, but it would come at the cost of the skill not being off cooldown for the second rotation. This is because the cooldown reduction is not enough to facilitate that. This constellation is useful for dealing with overworld enemies but not so much for the Spiral Abyss.

C2: Debate

This is Alhaitham’s second-best constellation after his C6. It grants him bonus EM every time a new Mirror is generated, not how many Mirrors he possesses. It is possible to use his burst at the start of a rotation which will grant him 3 Mirrors and then use his charged attack after 4s (when the first Mirror expires) to gain another Mirror, this way 4 Mirrors will be generated and the maximum of 4 stacks of the EM bonus will be reached. Since his Spread DMG and half of his modifiers scale with EM, this EM significantly increases his total DMG output.

C3: Negation

Increases his skill level by 3. This constellation is also not very useful since most of his DMG comes from the spread reaction, which scales off character level and EM rather than talent level. It will increase his raw Dendro DMG, but it does not make up a significant portion of his overall DMG.

C4: Elucidation

This constellation does two things: it buffs Alhaitham’s Dendro DMG bonus and buffs his teammates’ EM. note: Alhaitham himself does not gain any EM buff. Both of these effects depend on the number of Mirrors created and consumed by his burst.

Usually, Alhaitham’s burst should be used at the beginning of the rotation to grant him 3 Mirrors. Since no Mirrors are consumed, the teammates do not get the EM buff, only Alhaitham gains the Dendro DMG bonus.

C4 becomes valuable if C6 is activated. C6 allows him to use his burst multiple times in a rotation and the teammates can get the EM buff if he possesses any Mirrors while using the burst.

C5: Sagacity

Increases his burst level by 3. This is a very minor increase in overall DMG since his burst ticks alone do not constitute a large portion of his total DMG.

C6: Structuration

This one is Alhaitham’s best constellation. It will grant him 3 Mirrors regardless of how many Mirrors were consumed while casting the burst. If more than 3 Mirrors are generated, it buffs his Crit Rate and Crit DMG as well.

The best way to use C6 Alhaitham is to start the rotation with the burst followed by the skill. This would cause the buff to last 12s.

Final Thoughts

Alhaitham has a pretty decent spread of constellations. An ideal stopping point is C2, while the whales could benefit from his C4 and C6 as well. His C1, C3, and C5 are fairly useless though. While some of his constellations are good, none of them is required for him to work.

Alhaitham is a character who functions perfectly fine at C0. There is no problem in this kit that is fixed by his constellations, the good constellations merely add more DMG and support utility. Players must not feel tempted to pull for his constellations expecting to make him better. Getting C2 Nahida would be more useful than a C2 Alhaitham if the two of them are being used together. C2 Nahida increases Alhaitham’s DMG more than his own C2 does. The bottom line is that Alhaitham is an amazing character just at C0.
