In King’s Choice, the breed of a Pet doesn’t inherently determine a good racer; rather, its attributes do. In the King’s Choice Pet Race event your pet competes against the other five players pet in a race course. The course is strategically designed with obstacles combining varying weather conditions that impact the pet’s performance on the course. The pet with good attributes and a perfect skill set wins the race.
To win the event you need to know a few things. Let’s check them out one by one in our King’s Choice Pet Race guide, and additionally, we will also tell you several winning combinations of skill sets. List of Pet attributes in King’s Choice
- Obedience || Walking Speed: The higher the attribute better the walking speed
- Physique || Running Speed: The higher the attribute better the running speed
- Liveliness || Stamina Recovery in Walking: The higher the number faster the stamina recovers
- Friendliness || Stamina Consumption in Running: The higher the number slower the stamina consumes
- Intelligence || Obstacle Dodging: The higher the number bigger the chance of dodging an obstacle
List of different types of Skills in King’s Choice
There are four types of color-coded skills available in the race event.
1. Purple Skills
There are 5 skills in this set. These skills are easily found during skills study. Details of the skills are as follows
2. Green Skills
There are 15 skills in this set. These skills are also easily found during skills study. The details of these skills are as follows
3. Blue Skills
There are 10 skills in this set. These skills are rarer than green skills and start to appear after a few skills studies. The details of these skills are as follows
4. Yellow Skills
There are 5 skills in this set. These skills are rarest of all and start to appear after several skills studies. The details of these skills are as follows
Setting up the King’s Choice Pet Race event
Energy system
You begin with 6 participation opportunities, with one regenerating every 30 minutes, up to a maximum limit of 10.
Points System
- 1st Position – 100 points
- 2nd Position – 70 points
- 3rd Position – 50 points
- 4th Position – 30 points
- 5th Position – 20 points
Pet Selection
Any pet is eligible to participate in the race, but the pet with the highest attribute is automatically chosen for the race. You can manually change the selection as good Obedience and Physique attributed pet performing better during the early stage of the event.
Skill Study
You can study a new skill or upgrade the existing one after every three races for free. Additionally, purchasing Trainer’s Guides within the Value Packs can modify the available skill choices.
Choosing Skill Combinations in the King’s Choice Pet Race
This is the most important step of the event preparation. You should focus either on walking or running to get the best result in the race. Apart from that you can also access the ‘peak record’ tab to check which skill combination is working better. Here are some proven skill combinations you can always try out.
1. Walking Strategy
Strategy 1
- Expert walker, Power of Walking, Eye for an Eye, Spare No Effort, Roll of Luck, Schadenfreude, Obedience Up. (You can use any 5 of the above 7, however, skills marked in bold are most recommended)
- Tip- Schadenfreude works well at the beginning of the event but as time passes and people start to use Roll of Luck, Schadenfreude keeps getting useless (mostly nearing the end of the event). Additionally, use the pet that has the highest Obedience attribute for better results in walking strategy.
Strategy 2
- We have found another skills combination that works great as a walking strategy. In this strategy there are 2 main skills and the rest 3 skills can be built around them. The 2 main skills are Press Forward and Power of Walking and the other 3 can be any skill which supports the walking speed. However, we highly recommend Expert Walker, Eye for an Eye, and Obedience Up as supporting skills. If your luck doesn’t support you in skills study, in that case, you can Trade-off any skills but Obedience. You can also use Schadenfreude or Roll of Luck to support the walking.
- We have tried various skills with the primary two skills and got the results shown below.
2. Running Strategy
- Full Speed Ahead, Opportune Momentum, Vitality Supplement, Press Forward, Physique Up, After Storm, Roll of Luck, Ready for Battle, Preemptive Strike, Better and Better
- Tip– ‘After Storm‘ works best when used with ‘Roll of Luck‘ (else, very less effective). “Opportune Momentum, Vitality Supplement, and Better and Better“ becomes a lethal combo when used together. As the skills study depends on luck, it’s hard to find the desired skills. Therefore, if you are choosing running strategy (at the beginning) try to pick from these 10 skills and slowly switch to these 5 bold skills. Also, use the pet which has the highest ‘Physique’ attribute for better results in running strategy.
3. Peak Record
Apart from these two strategies you can always check peak-records and try out those combinations. Sometimes, desired skills don’t come out from the skill study, in those cases you may have to mix up the strategies and try to get the best out of it.
4. Additional Strategy
- You can also use a mix-strategy if nothing goes in favour of you. In that case, you can use this skill set. Roll of Luck + Intelligence Trade-off, Physique Up + Obedience Up, and in 5th spot use whatever is the best available to you. However, we recommend using any of these three, Eye for an Eye/ After Storm/ Ready for Battle.
- With Roll of Luck, the pet will automatically dodge the obstacles, therefore, we can ‘Trade-off its Intelligence’ to fuel up the other Attributes. On the other hand, Physique Up and Obedience Up will also boost the Running and Walking speed.
Bonus Tip
You are matched with the players ranked around you. Therefore, don’t rush to burn all the attempts/energy in one go. Just play 3/4 races and take a break (make sure the energy meter doesn’t stop). And finally play 9-10 races nearing the end of the day. This way will keep getting comparatively easier opponents.
