Legends of Runeterra (LOR) Patch 1.11 breakdown: All you need to know

Learn all about the Patch update!

Riot has unveiled what is in store for the next Legends of Runeterra (LOR) patch after the Patch 1.11 release. Patch 1.11 comes out on September 30 as usual and will be the usual balance patch. In this article, we will go over the changes in Patch 1.11.

Card Updates

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol is the only champion who is undergoing a change. He’s getting an increase in level-up requirements. This is an overall positive change as Aurelion Sol can win you the game almost single-handedly if you managed to level him up, which wasn’t very hard to do.

Radiant Guardian

The Radiant Guardian gets a small, yet impactful nerf. Radiant Guardian is a card that alone would win you the game against most aggressive decks. This change will lower her healing and trading potential.

Inspiring Mentor

These next two changes are meant to strengthen Ionian aggro decks which have pretty much disappeared from the metagame. Inspiring Mentor now poses a bigger threat, although it is easier to remove.

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.11

Pix

Pix will now live long enough to actually support an ally.

Jack the Winner

Jack the Winner receives a nerf to his stats. At 6 health he was very effective at trading and is generally difficult to remove.

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.11

Petty Officer

Petty Officer is reverted back to its original base stats. This might put the card back into obscurity, however, this is well deserved as Petty Officer sees inclusion in nearly every Bilgewater deck, regardless of whether it is aggro, control, or midrange.

Bastion

A buff to Bastion is something that no one expected. A big one at that, as it now grants +1/+1 and the Spellshield is permanent. The developers explain that this is intended to make Bastion a core card in Targon decks, as well as be better alongside Taric. So, a buff like this will certainly make that happen.

Cosmic Inspiration

Up next is Cosmic Inspiration, which is losing its mana refill effect. Good change as this card was basically 4 mana. Now it will be a bigger loss in tempo if you choose to play it early.

Grandfather Rumul

Grandfather Rumul was already an okay card, but how could it match against the likes of Infinite Mindsplitter, Riptide Rex, and other high costed, high-value cards? This makes him a lot more viable but it’s still an inconsistent card, as it requires you to have two units in play that would benefit from the health buff.

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.11

Hush

We now get to quite possibly the most hated card in the game – Hush. The nerf it will receive is a relatively small one. However, the developers explain that they are already working on further changes to Hush, including removing its repeatable effect and decreasing its cost.

Mountain Goat

We end on a buff to Mountain Goat. It’s nice as this card sees basically no play. Therefore, hopefully, we can start slotting it into our buff decks.

Introduction of new Single-player Lab: Journey to the Peak

In this Lab, you will have to choose between Leona and Diana, as well as a unique passive ability. You’ll face three foes, each more difficult than the last, with their own unique ability. You draft cards after each match and build your deck as you climb the peak.

  • Choose either Leona or Diana, and select a unique passive power to aid you in your journey.
  • Face three unique, increasingly challenging battles against formidable foes who have their own special abilities to match yours.
  • Customize your deck by drafting reinforcements after each game, and build your strength to reach the peak!

Brand new in-game Leaderboards

Addition of Two new leaderboards to the Play screen.

  • The Masters leaderboard shows who’s on top of the Ranked ladder on your shard, and who’s on the rise.
  • The Friends leaderboard shows how you stack with your friends on your Ranked climb.

Miscellaneous

New Language Support: Thai

Addition of additional language support to LoR—new players should be correctly auto-detected while existing players can swap languages in their login screen settings. The Thai language is now supported in the game.

Introducing Match History

Match History will be made available through the Riot Games API, so you may start seeing match history-related features on community sites.

These are all the major changes with this Legends of Runeterra (LOR) 1.11 patch! The new patch will be playable on September 30.
