Neo Artifacts – Strategy RPG Gameplay Basics

Neo Artifacts is a Turn-based RPG game, where you strategically place your Arrifacters on the battlefield to defeat powerful enemies. Although you will be able to use the Autoplay button later on, the game teaches you the basic strategic moves early on. This allows you to understand the dynamics of the Arrifacters you have in the game.

Artifacters are the playable characters you can use in the game. Each one belongs to a different role based on their attack style and impact on the battlefield. The classes of Arrifacters will be highlighted below:

  • Strategist: This is a Support Class that can create extra Alert Zones that attack any enemies entering the area. In exchange, their mobility is limited, making them dependent on allies for attacks.
  • Striker: This is a Melee DPS class of Artifacters capable of breaking through the enemy’s lines. They can also bypass certain terrains just to take down an enemy target.
  • Sniper: This is a Ranged DPS class that specializes in long-ranged strikes against enemy targets.
  • Caster: This is a highly versatile class with Artifacts that offers diverse abilities, including damage, healing, buffs, and debuffs.
  • Guardian: This Melee Class specializes in defending allies and tanking the enemy’s attacks. You can use them to block and protect incoming attacks on your team’s DPS Artifacter.

The way you use the Artifacter’s class in battle will determine how easily each mission assigned to you by the Kantie Foundation is completed. Therefore, let’s check out some crucial gameplay tips you should note while playing Neo Artifacts.

Neo Artifacts Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks to Remember

Here are some key tips and tricks to help you progress faster and complete missions more easily in the game.

1. Positioning is Everything

Neo Artifacts’ core gameplay mechanics focus mainly on placing your Artifacters in the best position on the battle map. Smart positioning helps you control the battlefield, avoid unnecessary damage, and maximize your team’s overall effectiveness.

Fragile units like Snipers and Casters should always be behind Frontliners like Guardians, as they can easily block enemy attacks. On maps with rough terrain and obstacles, place your Strikers near them so they can use the terrain to their advantage and quickly take down enemies.

2. Understand your Artifacters’ Attribute Strengths and Weaknesses

In Neo Artifacts, each Artifacter has specific Attributes like Igris, Terra, Umbra, and others that determine their strengths and weaknesses. Some attributes are more effective against certain enemies. Therefore, ensure to plan your lineup carefully before each battle.

Placing an Artifacter with a weaker attribute against an enemy with a stronger attribute puts you at a big disadvantage, as they’ll take extra damage and struggle to survive or fight back.

3. Balance Your Team Composition

Avoid stacking only one class of Artifacters. A strong team mixes damage dealers, defenders, and support units. Ensure not to just draft a strong offense, but also draft a strong front line/defensive line. This balance ensures you can handle different situations, whether it’s surviving heavy attacks or dealing consistent damage across multiple enemies.

4. Keep Recruiting for Better Artifacters

Make sure to regularly draw for new Artifacters, especially high-rarity ones. Stronger units often have better stats, skills, and overall impact in battle. Expanding your roster gives you more options to build balanced teams and handle different challenges more effectively. This is even easier when you recruit limited-time Recruiters, as they’re way stronger than normal.

On obtaining a high-rarity Artifacter, don’t just stop there; ensure you upgrade it using your accumulated Sociology book items. You can even equip your Artifacters with bonus Equipment and Weapons. Doing these will efficiently raise the firepower of your roster, making it all the easier to complete missions.

5. Do as the missions demand

Ensure you constantly complete daily tasks and campaign missions, as this will make it easier for you to accumulate rare resources. Rare resources, including Upgrade items, Equipment, new limited-time Artifacters, and lots more, are available for grabs when you complete missions.

6. Use Alert Zones Wisely

Alert Zones are the areas where you can place your Artifacter on the battle map. The Alert Zones signal the consequences of a move by showing which is Safe and Dangerous. Therefore, utilize this to safeguard your lineup from unnecessary damage early on.

You can also utilize a Strategist class Artifacter to create extra Alert Zones that punish enemies entering certain areas. Place these zones in choke points or paths enemies must cross. This adds extra damage without using turns directly, giving you an advantage while controlling enemy movement.

7. Learn Before Using Autoplay

This topic is really crucial as it is best to understand the game rather than using Autoplay most of the time. It is best to play manually first to understand the game’s mechanics, skills, and positioning. This knowledge helps you make better decisions later, especially in difficult stages where manual control and strategy give you a clear edge.
