Dicero is the latest casual roguelite adventure title from HABBY, the creator of the Archero series and Capybara Go!. In this Dicero Beginners Guide and Tips, I will provide some tips and tricks to help you get started and improve your gameplay experience. Dicero Gameplay Overview
Let’s start with the gameplay overview to help you get a clear idea of how it works. So, Dicero throws you directly into a short tutorial run where you fight unique enemies using dice rolls. It’s cool how quickly the game teaches you the basics like picking targets and chaining dice combos to deal more damage.

As you progress, you unlock up to six Battle Dice, and you can attach certain skills like Sword Shadow to these dice. Before each turn, you get three chances to reroll and build a combo by matching the numbers. If you manage to match all the dice, it will turn purple and also deal the most serious damage.
And after certain turns, you unlock skills of different rarities through Treasures, the toad Roulette, or the Angel. You’ll come across abilities like More Chances, Roll Surge, Light of Redemption, and more, and picking the right ones can change the overall outcome. I found the bosses very tanky, and most can even heal and add shield during their turns.
Introducing the Basics of Dicero
Gear
The Gear section is where you equip your character with weapons, boots, rings, and more. This reminds me of Archero 2 with how each gear comes in rarities, and you can improve its stats by upgrading it. Here, too, you can fuse duplicates for better performance with enhanced stats.

Outfits like the Winter Lord are not just for cosmetics, but also come with passive bonuses and active skills. You can add up to 3 skills to them. Besides this, you can unlock weapons divided into Frost, Lightning, and The Count’s Power in the Transmog section and even add 6 weapon skills.
Talents
Next up is Talents, which is basically your overall stats progression. In the Talents section, you can spend Gold you gain from your runs to draw unique Talent cards, and their rarities depend on the dice value, which also fits the game’s core mechanics. By drawing duplicates, you can upgrade them.

For instance, you can get the First Strike talent card, which starts your run with 2 Battle Dice instead of 1, or the Sturdy card, which gives +8 HP, and so on.
Star Challenge, Chapter Chest, and Idle Rewards

In Chapter Chest, you can claim rewards like Gold, Talent Crystals, and even Gems, for clearing each stage. Meanwhile, in Star Challenge, you can replay levels to complete all the criteria to increase your Star count for more rewards. And as the name suggests, you can collect various rewards in Idle Rewards.
Shop
The in-game Shop includes Stage Packs, Gear Chests, and the premium currency, Gem. You can get unique Stage Packs containing rewards like Royal Glory Keys, Sojourn Keys, and more by using Gems.

You can then use the Keys to draw in Royal Glory Chests or Sojourn Chests to try your luck at getting an S-rank Epic gear. And, as you clear more campaign chapters, you’ll unlock three more sections of the Shop.
Dicero Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks
1. Focus on building strong dice combos

As you know by now, the core of this game is to match the dice to create combos and get damage multipliers, so don’t rush your rolls. So, you should aim for higher matches if possible, and it doesn’t matter if the numbers are less if you can go purple. This way, you can easily beat the Bosses.
2. Pick skills that actually help you
As you progress, you’ll get a lot of skills to choose from all the sources, but not all of them are useful in certain scenarios. So, instead of picking randomly, you should try to build around a strategy like more Swordwaves or Greatsword damage. I personally try to get all the Greatsword-based skills.
3. Upgrade and fuse your gear regularly
Like Archero 2, Gear plays an important role in this game too, so you shouldn’t ignore it. You should try to upgrade any new gear you unlock and then equip it. And, if you unlock duplicates, make sure to fuse them for better results.
4. Don’t forget about Talents
Make sure to spend all the Gold you unlock during your runs on the Talents section to unlock useful ones like First Strike, which gives you one extra Battle Dice at the start of your run. Besides this, talents like Dexterity and Direct Hit are also very useful to dodge attacks and gain an attack crit rate bonus.
5. Replay levels for more rewards
If you’re stuck in certain Chapters, I suggest you navigate to Star Challenge and complete the levels there for useful rewards. The extra gems and other rewards are quite useful to progress smoothly.
Final Thoughts
I am enjoying Dicero as of now with its refreshing take on dice-based combat with a bit of luck and strategy. At first, I thought the game wouldn’t be that fun, but the challenging bosses and increasingly difficult Chapters proved me wrong.
And as you face tougher bosses with 10+ Health bars, you may get stuck in certain Campaign chapters. Which is why you should follow this guide and take your time learning everything to have a smooth and enjoyable experience. Happy Gaming!
