Pokémon GO: List of counters for Tapu Koko raid event 2022

Ground or Poison-type Pokémons are the best to counter the legendary Electric/fairy type Pokemon

Tapu Koko is going to appear in five-star raid battles in Pokémon GO. The dual-type Electric/Fairy Legendary Pokémon has been introduced in Generation VII. Right after the conclusion of the Pokémon GO Johto Tour, Niantic released the first handful of Alola Pokémon to the wild.

It’s now possible for trainers to capture Rowlet, Popplio, and Litten in the game. However many players were left with confusion when creatures from Galar were added to the game before Alola since Pokémon Sun and Moon were released years before Pokémon Sword and Shield. The first guardian deity of the Alola region is available for capture through raid battles.

Where to battle with Tapu Koko

Tapu Koko will only appear in five-star raid battles in Pokémon GO until March 15, 2022, at 10 am local time. Fortunately, Niantic is hosting two Raid Hour events before it’s removed from the game to be replaced with another Pokémon.

These Raid Hours will be made in such a manner that every Gym has an active legendary raid battle for a full hour. Regardless, trainers will need to use a raid pass in order to participate. Fortunately, trainers can grab a Remote Raid Pass in Pokémon GO from the shop every week for a single Poké Coin.

Details of Tapu Koko and its abilities

Tapu Koko is a dual-type Electric/Fairy Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. It is the guardian deity of Melemele Island, with Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini being the deities of the other islands.

Tapu Koko is able to pull its mask together and hide its upper body inside, creating the impression of a stylized rooster. It has the ability to store electricity by closing itself inside the shells on its arms.

Tapu Koko and the other guardian deities share the signature move Nature’s Madness and the exclusive Z-Move Guardian of Alola.

However, players must remember that the aforementioned counters are ideal ones. There are a lot of other choices for players to take down the Legendary Pokemon. Most importantly, players need to focus on teaming up, finding the best Ground-type Pokemons, and taking advantage of Tapu Koko’s weaknesses.

Players should also make sure to have some Stardust and TMs (or Elite TMs) in their inventories. Pokémon Go players must make sure that they take some time to optimize an ideal counter roster for the big fight.

That is all for this month’s Research Breakthrough encounter rewards. We should learn more about other upcoming events during the early days of the Season of Alola. Stay tuned with us for more updates on Pokemon GO.
