The hardest Eeveelution to achieve!

Pokémon Go offers you the option to capture any Pokémon of your liking and then use it in other battles or anywhere else as you please. Among all of the different types of Pokémon available in the game, Fairy types are one of the strongest types out there and Sylveon is one of them. So in this Pokémon Go guide, we are going to talk about the best ways using which you’ll be able to get your hands on Sylveon in the game as there are very tricks you can use to do so.

Sylveon in Pokémon Go

When you are going into PvP or PvE battles in Pokémon Go, Fairy-type Pokémon are one of the best types to carry with you into battle as they comprise some of the strongest Pokémon species out there. Among many Fairy-type Pokémon, Sylveon stands out to be a fan favorite amongst players. It evolves from Eevee and thus is also known as an Eeveelution.

How to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go

Sylveon is a popular Pokémon and is a good addition to the teams of beginner and experienced players alike. It is a part of Gen 6 and if you are also amongst those you want to get a Sylveon for themselves too, here are all the different ways in which you can get yourself one successfully.

1. Using hidden Name trick in Pokémon Go

If you didn’t already know, you can evolve your Eevee into Sylveon by just changing its name. This is a secret trick in Pokémon Go and nobody why exactly it works, but it is good enough for us to know that we can get Sylveon to do this. Here’s everything you need to do to use this trick successfully.

  • Step 1: You’ll need to catch an Eevee if you already don’t have one.
  • Step 2: Change your Eevee’s name to ‘Kira’.
  • Step 3: Now spend 25 Eevee Candy and click on the Evolve button.

Following this will most likely leave you with your own Sylveon. But you should keep in mind that if there is no Fairy-type outline over the Evolve button while you are clicking on it, then it will most likely not turn into Sylveon. But if you do get it, this trick only works once per every Eeveelution which means that if you want another Sylveon for yourself, you’ll need to get it using the normal method.

2. Using Buddy Hearts in Pokémon Go

The most common method to get an Eevee to evolve into Sylveon is to make it your Buddy and earn 70 hearts with it. As hearts can only be earned with your Buddy Pokémon, you will need to head over to the bottom left corner of the screen and tap on the Trainer’s portrait. There you will find the Buddy button from where you can make Eevee your buddy.

After you’ve successfully made Eevee your Buddy, you will need to collect 70 hearts. For this you will need to do various activities with it, each activity rewards you with a different number of hearts. Here’s everything that you can do with your Buddy Pokémon and the number of hearts you’ll be rewarded with after you complete it written beside it.

  • You can earn up to three hearts every day by walking with your Buddy for 2km.
  • You can also play with your Buddy to earn one heart every day.
  • Treats can be given to your Buddy such as Berries but with a one-hour gap between them. This will reward you with three hearts every day.
  • You can also earn three hearts every day by participating in PvP leagues, Team Rocket Leader and Grunt Battles, Gyms, and Raids along with your Buddy.
  • You will receive one heart per day by taking a snapshot with your Buddy in AR mode.
  • You can also receive a new heart every time you visit a new Pokestop or Gym with your Buddy.

Even though it’s not possible to walk for 2 km or discover new Pokestops every day with your Buddy, other tasks such as playing with them, clicking snapshots, and feeding them treats are relatively easier to complete.

If you complete these easy tasks every day, you will left with 12 hearts at the end of each day. This means that at this rate you would acquire 70 hearts in 6 days which can even become lesser if you feed Poffins to your Eeevee. After getting the 70 hearts, you will be able to see the outline of Sylveon on the Evolve button and you can move further with the process by using 25 Eevee candies.

How to make your Buddy excited in Pokémon Go to earn Hearts faster

Making your Pokémon Buddy excited is a faster way to earn hearts in Pokémon Go. Along with a Buddy in an excited state, you can earn up to 24 hearts every day which will speed up your process to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go and reduce the number from 6 days to a mere 3 days. To get your Buddy excited, you need to garner 32 points by completing different actions.

You can also buy Poffins from the in-game store in Pokémon Go which will further help you to get your Eevee Buddy excited. A Reddit user named u/7Kushi on the r/TheSliphroad subreddit has shared a detailed list of actions showing how to reach those 32 points to get your Buddy excited, which has been attached above. Each action will have a cooldown of 30 minutes except for the 2km walk and every action will provide you with different amounts of points, so choose accordingly.

Conclusion

So this is how to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go using various methods in the game. To some, it might look like it’s a lot of extra effort but Sylveon is one of the hardest Eeveelution to complete in Pokémon Go. And given the fact that it is a very strong Fairy-type Pokémon, going through all this extra effort to get it to be a part of your team will all seem worth it in the end.
