What is the gacha system in Arknights: Endfield

The gacha system in Arknights: Endfield is your main way of obtaining new Operators and related upgrade resources, but it’s designed so that spending wisely matters far more than pulling often. While banners can be tempting, Endfield does not require immediate gacha investment to progress.

You can clear the Early story content and exploration comfortably with free and starter characters, making patience one of the most valuable skills for new players.

Banners usually rotate between standard pools and limited or featured banners. Standard banners contain a wider selection of characters, while featured banners increase the drop rate of specific Operators.

Limited banners, when available, typically introduce exclusive characters that may not return for a long time. So before pulling, you must read the banner details carefully, as each banner has its own rate-up rules and pity mechanics.

The Rates and Pity in the banners for Arknights: Endfield

Unlike some mobile gacha games that feel random and unrewarding, Endfield’s system has transparent rates and layered pity protections that can work in your favor if you plan your pulls carefully. The core currency for character pulls is Oroberyl, and every single pull costs 500 Oroberyl, while a 10-pull costs 5,000 Oroberyl.

Characters are divided into rarities with base rates of 6-Star at about 0.8%, 5-Star at about 8%, and 4-Star at about 91.2% per pull before pity adjustments are applied.

The gacha ensures that every 10 pulls guarantee at least one 5-Star Operator, as you will always get a stronger unit or a valuable duplicate within a multi-pull. A second layer is soft pity: if you have not pulled a 6-Star by around 65 pulls, your chance to get one increases significantly with each successive pull.

If you still haven’t hit a 6-Star by 80 pulls, the hard pity kicks in, guaranteeing you a 6-Star Operator, but with a 50/50 chance it will be the featured limited character on that banner versus another 6-Star from the broader pool.

The Banner System in Arknights: Endfield

One of the most strategic parts of Endfield’s system is its featured guarantee on limited banners. If you make 120 pulls on a single featured banner without obtaining the specific featured 6-Star, the 120th pull will guarantee that rate-up Operator.

This “spark-like” system ensures that saving up for full guarantees rather than impulsive early pulling dramatically increases your odds of obtaining characters you want. However, this 120-pull guarantee does not carry over to future banners; progress toward this goal resets when the banner ends.

In addition to these guarantees, some advanced mechanics reward high pull counts. If you accumulate around 240 pulls on a limited banner, Endfield gives you additional benefits like duplicate tokens of the featured character, which are useful for obtaining character copies for upgrades.

Also, most limited banners now include a Headhunting Dossier unlocked at 60 pulls, granting a free 10-pull on the next limited banner as effectively a bonus multi-pull that doesn’t count toward pity but adds extra value.

Other Banners and Gacha System in Arknights: Endfield

There are multiple banner types with slight differences in rules. The Beginner banner (called New Horizons) gives new accounts a huge early advantage: it usually offers you with a discounted multi-pull cost and guarantees at least one 6-Star Operator within about 40 pulls, along with a 6-Star weapon selector at completion.

The Standard banner follows the same pity mechanics as limited banners, but its guaranteed 6-Star doesn’t have a rate-up; instead, reaching 300 total pulls on that banner eventually grants a 6-Star selector of any standard character, which is a very long-term investment.

Weapon banners are called Arsenal Issue / Arsenal Exchange, which uses a different currency called Arsenal Tickets, which you mainly earn from character pulls.

They have higher weapon rates (for example, around 4% for 6-Star weapons) and their own guarantees, such as a 6-Star weapon by 40 pulls and featured weapons by about 80 pulls, but importantly, their pity does not carry over between weapon banner cycles. So, keep that in mind.

Tips and Recommendations for the gacha system and banners

  • Save for at least 120 pulls before investing in a limited banner you care about. Because of the 50/50 and featured guarantee rules, pulling early and stopping can leave you short of your goals and out of resources.
  • Take advantage of the Beginner banner fully, as it gives a free 6-Star and weapons that can carry you far into early play.
  • Always track your pull count and plan across banner rotations so you can utilize carry-over pity (like the 80-pull count) efficiently without losing the featured guarantee once a banner ends.
  • Resist spending pull currency on the Standard banner too early; it’s usually better to focus on featured banners that provide rate-ups unless you need a specific standard Operator.

Final Thoughts

My personal recommendation is getting a character you enjoy rather than a “meta” character. Keep in mind that none of the options are “bad,” and you won’t brick your account if you end up getting one of them.

All beginner operators are great, as the game focuses greatly on Teams instead of the Individual Performance of each Operator. But if you want, you can still check out our Operators Tier list for a better idea.
