AFK Journey is set to welcome one of anime’s most loved titles, with a new collaboration featuring Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End officially arriving on May 1, 2026. Farlight Games has teased the crossover, confirming that Frieren and Himmel will be stepping into the world of Esperia as part of the upcoming collab.

New storyline, quests, and cosmetics planned for the AFK Journey x Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End collab
The crossover will introduce new content built around the anime, including a dedicated in-game storyline, themed quests, rewards, and exclusive cosmetics. This marks the first time Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is being adapted into the game.
Looking back at the game’s history, it also becomes the third major IP collaboration for AFK Journey so far. From May to June 2025, the Fairy Tail franchise saw its inclusion in the game, and the following November, Delicious in Dungeon saw its arrival.
For those who do not know, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a fantasy anime that follows Frieren, an elven mage with an incredibly long lifespan, as she reflects on life and relationships after her party defeats the Demon King.
Produced by Madhouse, the series has been widely praised for its storytelling, emotional depth, its gentle humour, and music. It first aired in 2023, with its second season concluding in March 2026, and the hype is high at the time of writing, as a third season has already been confirmed for October 2027.
