- ANANTA leaks reveal an advanced dating and tea-time system with affection progression, romance events, and cinematic interactions.
- Multiplayer Mode and Smart Matchmaking System will also be part of ANANTA with an advanced Customisation System.
ANANTA, formerly known as Project Mugen, is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated anime-style urban open-world games currently in development. While NetEase Games has revealed details before about the vibrant city life experience ANANTA will carry, we have also received plenty of leaks showing a huge amount of potential content planned for the game. So here we have a complete glimpse at what the leaks have revealed and what features are also expected.
ANANTA Leaks Reveal Advanced Dating & Tea Time System
One of the most interesting discoveries from the beta is the game’s highly detailed relationship system.
Multiple Dialogue Choices and Cinematic Presentation
In the beta, tea-time interactions include three different dialogue options. Characters react differently depending on the selected response, while you earn affection points based on their choices. Unlike simple dialogue menus, the game features dedicated cinematic camera systems during tea-time interactions.

VIP Relationship Progression
ANANTA relationships reportedly feature rank systems tied to individual characters. As you increase affection levels, they may unlock official congratulatory messages, Additional conversations, Special interaction events, and Exclusive rewards.
There is also a mention of a cooldown system designed to prevent players from repeatedly farming affection points. After interacting with a character, you must wait before initiating another interaction.
Special Encounter Systems
Two particularly interesting systems were reportedly discovered:
- Special interaction states for bosses and major story characters outside combat.
- Dedicated romance-event logic that may trigger unique story scenes.
So these are enough hints that character relationships may play a major role in the overall gameplay experience.
Multiplayer Mode and Smart Matchmaking System in ANANTA
The leaked multiplayer system indicates that Ananta may focus on instance-based online gameplay rather than a fully shared open world.

ANANTA has several multiplayer modes that were found in the beta:
- Private Room: Invite-only gameplay sessions for friends.
- Team Match: Party formation through automated matchmaking.
Smart Matchmaking System
The goal appears to be smoother gameplay by grouping players with similar device performance and players with similar levels for fair matchmaking. A blocklist feature was also mentioned, allowing users to block specific players.
Advanced Customisation System
Another major leak highlights one of the most detailed customisation systems seen in an anime-style open-world game.

With the 8-Tier Rarity System, the game reportedly includes cosmetic rarities ranging from basic items to mythic-tier gear. An unusual GreenGrey rarity tier was also discovered, alongside a separate category for quest items.
You may have access to dedicated slots for Makeup, Ears and Tails, and Accessories. Each outfit supports up to seven separate dye channels, allowing players to customise even small details like collars and zippers. You may also control visibility options, such as hiding ears beneath helmets.
Outfits and Footstep Effects
- Outfits: Outfits are divided into two collection categories: visual sets and functional sets. Visual sets based on themes, brands, and seasons. Functional sets provide hidden buffs and stat bonuses.
- Footstep Effects: Rare cosmetics include unique visual effects while walking, particle effects, light trails, and Aura effects.
Character Abilities in ANANTA
What has also been revealed is that each character has unique abilities. At this moment, we know about two characters’ abilities.
- Main character: The main character possesses a travel ability similar to Spider-Man-style swinging or aerial movement, allowing fast navigation across Nova City.
- Tuffy: He can summon and ride a personal scooter. Based on the beta leaks, only he has this ability.

This system could add significant diversity to gameplay and help each character feel unique during exploration and combat.
Open World, Game Size, and other details
The leaks also provide new insight into the scale of Nova City, the game’s main urban environment. Leakers suggests that driving across the map can take up to 24 minutes. According to leakers, the map could be six times larger than the Neverness to Everness map at launch. If accurate, this would make Ananta one of the largest anime-style urban open-world games currently in development.
A leaked settings image appears to reveal the game’s planned language support for both voice-over audio and UI text. Based on the image, the game may support voice-over in English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
The leaked interface also lists several UI and subtitle language options, including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Russian, and Spanish.
The latest leaks reveal possible storage requirements across different platforms.
- PC Size: Roughly 120 GB to 233 GB for high-quality texture packs. Minimum 300GB free disc space needed.
- PlayStation 5 Size: The PS5 version may require around 60 GB to 120 GB after optimisation.
- Mobile Size: Around 50 GB to 70 GB. But 100 GB to 130 GB of free storage may be required for a smooth experience.
When will ANANTA release
The project is reportedly in a large-scale content production phase, with developers actively refining gameplay systems and preparing future updates. According to the report, the expected launch window is currently planned for the end of Q3 2026, so the timeline is between July and September 2026, which is expected to be China’s first and then followed by global.
Final Thoughts
If these leaks prove accurate, Ananta could become one of the most ambitious anime-style open-world games ever released. The combination of cinematic relationship mechanics, large-scale multiplayer systems, character-specific traversal abilities, deep customisation, and an enormous urban map suggests the game is targeting a full AAA live-service experience across all major platforms.
Note that all current information comes from beta builds, development files, and analytical reports. Players should remember that many systems may change before the official launch.
