Two of mobile gaming’s biggest names are finally teaming up as SYBO and Rovio have officially announced a crossover between Subway Surfers and Angry Birds 2. This collaboration with the endless runner with the casual bird-slinging hit will feature some exciting themed events and also new characters across both titles.
Both Angry Birds 2 and Subway Surfers will kick off collab events with different event styles
The collaboration arrives as part of Subway Surfers’ 14th anniversary celebration, which is themed around “Super Runners”. This update takes us to a futuristic version of Copenhagen, the home city of SYBO, where the usual Subway Surfers crew now appears in superhero-style looks inside a neon-heavy city setting.
As part of the event, you will be able to unlock and play as Red and Chuck from Angry Birds. The update also adds new outfits, hoverboards, collectibles, and themed gameplay content tied to the crossover. But the crossover isn’t one-sided. Subway Surfers content is also heading into Angry Birds 2 through two separate in-game events.
The first is called the Subway Surfers Spell, where players who have reached level 13 can unlock a new spell during Saga levels. Using it lets birds grind directly through pig fortresses in a way inspired by Subway Surfers gameplay.
The second event, Swag Adventure, revolves around the Tower of Fortune. You can collect exclusive Subway Surfers hats, which increase Flock Power and help push through pig defenses more effectively.
Rovio is also giving Angry Birds 2 a full crossover presentation with themed backgrounds, event art, and even special event coins blending visuals from both franchises.
The Subway Surfers crossover content begins rolling out on May 11, 2026, while the Angry Birds 2 side of the collaboration will arrive later.
