- Angry Birds Rush returns in early access on Android and iOS in Mexico.
- Game now listed under Rovio Entertainment directly instead of Dark Matter Gaming.
Angry Birds Rush has suddenly popped up again, silently, is what I would say, this time in early access on Android and iOS in Mexico. However, there are quite a few observations here, compared to the last time it was live, the early access in the US.
From what I remember, the title was earlier listed under Dark Matter Gaming, a Rovio subsidiary, but the new listing now shows Rovio Entertainment Oy directly as the publisher. Even the Play Store URL has changed, and the US early access page has been delisted.
Usually, such hints that something has been reworked behind the scenes. Nothing official has been said yet; maybe the development team has changed this time around. But yes, it does look like the project is now sitting more directly under Rovio.
Angry Birds Rush gameplay mixes slingshot mechanics with an endless runner
Coming to the game itself, Angry Birds Rush takes a different approach compared to the classic slingshot formula. It implements the slingshot of the original and then applies an endless runner, so maybe “endless flyer” is an apt term to describe the game here, but yes, this will be of shorts bursts.

You launch your bird and guide it mid-run, smashing through structures, collecting resources, and triggering chain reactions. The environments jump across different time periods, too, so you’ll be breaking through temples, villages, and modern cities along the way.
However, the progression is a different path here. Once you wrap up your run, the coins you collect will be invested in the camp building elements. The US early access didn’t come with original voice acting for our birds, although it was an unfinished game too, so hopefully those are looked into.
For now, Angry Birds Rush is only available in Mexico via the Google Play Store and App Store. There’s still no confirmation on a wider early access rollout or global release, so if you’re outside the region, it’s a waiting game for now.
