Apex Legends Mobile accounts for nearly $5 Million revenue in the first week of its launch

Things hope to rise soon!

Since its release, Apex Legends Mobile has developed a following; the popular free-to-play battle royale game from Electronic Arts is known for its heroic characters and furious gameplay. The game was revealed about two years ago, and it was formally launched on Mobile devices on May 17th, 2022, after beta testing in select locations. And now, according to a VGC source, Apex Legends Mobile has grossed roughly $5 million in revenue in its first week, despite the fact that millions of users have downloaded the game and are actively playing it.

An incredible start for Apex Legends Mobile

Mobile games that are available for free are among the most popular in the community. Microtransaction-enabled games have made millions of dollars from fans ready to pay for items like a season pass or unique skins.

Call of Duty Mobile has made the most money in its first week among the most popular free-to-play games, with $14.8 million in its first week following its October 2019 release. In the first week after monetization was added to the game in April 2018, PUBG Mobile made $600,000.

According to Sensor Tower, a mobile data gathering company, Apex Legends Mobile has already made nearly $4.8 million in its first week of release through player spending on both the App Store and Google Play.

It is nothing short of historic for a new game to achieve this in the already competitive battle royale mobile genre. According to reports, Apex Legends Mobile was the top downloaded mobile game on the iOS platform on May 17th in 60 countries, including the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and India.

Countrywise, the US players spent the highest amount of money accounting for 44% ($2.1 million) of total revenue, followed by Japan and Thailand. This comes amidst Apex Legends Mobile receiving severe backlash for overpriced in-game cosmetics, with players from across the world claiming that the developers are running a scam by overcharging cosmetic items in the game.

Despite all the backlash, Apex Legends Mobile has gotten off to a good start with the game now being actively played across the world rivaling existing battle royale games like COD Mobile and PUBG Mobile.
