Gameloft has unveiled the next chapter for its highly popular Asphalt franchise. The long-running racing series is gearing to release its next iteration, but unlike previous times, this new title, Asphalt Legends Unite will replace Asphalt Legends as its revamped version. Gameloft also confirms that the launch will take place on July 17th, this year.
I broke the news in January 2024 that a new title in the Asphalt series is coming, but little did I know that it would replace the existing Asphalt 9: Legends title. Now Gameloft has officially confirmed it along with mentioning what are the new features that will be coming with this.
Asphalt Legends Unite will release with cross-play and co-op mode
Asphalt is already a highly popular racing series. But until now, it was missing some important features compared to modern-day mobile games. But not anymore! With this new Asphalt Legends Unite launch, Gameloft will be implementing the co-op feature in its pursuit mode where you can play with your friends, together! How fun is that!
Gameloft mentions, “A team of five Security players will work together to hunt three Syndicate drivers in tense tactical races.”
The game will also be implementing a cross-play feature where you can play simultaneously with players racing on Console, Mac, and PC. This also brings the cross-progression feature. And the best part is that all your progress from Asphalt 9: Legends will be carried over to Asphalt Legends Unite.
Gameloft is upgrading the game engine in its latest Asphalt title
The new Asphalt mobile game will also be more technically good! That means it will run better and smoother to provide you with gameplay that you have never experienced before.
Gameloft mentions, “Asphalt Legends Unite shifts the franchise’s already cutting-edge graphics into high gear with an upgraded engine. Dynamic lighting (a franchise first!) enables enhancements such as surface reflections and real-time headlights illuminating the road.”
Other than that, Asphalt Legends Unite is also going to have a revamped garage system. Each time you unlock a new car, “It gives you that new-car-reveal feeling every time you open it“, says Game Manager Ignacio Marin.
