Asphalt Legends Unite: All new features to look at in comparison with Asphalt Legends

Wroom we go!

The hype for the Gameloft’s Legends Unite update for Asphalt 9 is set to launch on July 17, 2024. This update brings significant enhancements, including a new game engine that dramatically improves the visuals with advanced lighting effects and crisp textures, so it is interesting to list out these features that are coming, so here am I, once again, to bring you the brand new features coming to Asphalt Legends Unite.

Asphalt Legends Unite all new features explained

I thought of doing this as a comparison article, but listing out the new features is somewhat the same. I watched the showcase video shared by the makers and was quite dazzled at how many improvements are coming with this title, so surely, it is a huge deal.

1. Updated UI and UX

As expected, an updated User Interface and User Experience are now part of the game. The theme leaned towards the purple shades as we had in the logo, with brighter buttons hovering around green and yellow. New fonts can also be seen in this which is easy to read, while also being stylish.

2. New Garage System

This was mostly expected by many, especially me, since the one we had in Legends was kind of outdated. This luxurious new garage, inspired by high-end cars and garages, is designed to enhance the focus on car display with advanced new cameras and shots.

3. Game Engine Upgrade

Another huge addition is the game engine upgrade. This focuses on newer devices, allowing for higher-quality visuals and improved performance. While support for legacy devices has been dropped to push the engine’s capabilities to the fullest, all old tracks have been updated with new lighting and materials to provide a consistent visual upgrade across the game.

4. Dynamic Lights and Reflections

Another addition is thanks to the game’s new engine, which brings dynamic lighting and real-time reflections. You can notice that the visual effects on cars and tracks have been improved thanks to this, we will now get enhanced car headlights and reflective surfaces to create a more immersive experience.

5. New Track

Following up on the previous new feature is the new nighttime track, filled with moving lights and fireworks, which is specifically designed to showcase these advanced lighting effects that have been added.

Set in Singapore, the new track features a theme park, aquarium, ferris wheels, roller coasters, and fireworks, all of which utilize the new engine’s capabilities for dynamic lighting and reflections. You can see this is very vibrant to the eyes and has a great feel of nighttime racing, so for those who want to enjoy a nighttime track, you have your wish!

6. Revamping old tracks

Since the game has changed to the new engine, the older tracks have received some great touches as well.

Thanks to the side-by-side comparison shown, you can notice how excellent these changes are. The lighting is so much better than before, the visuals seem sharp, and the shadows are a huge plus.

7. New Game Modes and Multiplayer

Well, the new game should have more modes to enjoy and, Legends Unite does the same. It introduces a Security vs Syndicate competitive mode with a chase between security cars and Syndicate cars where you can set high scores.

Along with this comes the opening of private lobbies for all of you who enjoy customized races. The co-op mode is accessible with pretty fun 5 vs 3 chase-down actions, allowing you to work together in teams for rewards.

8. Season Events and Cars

The first season of Unite features an impressive lineup of cars including Bugatti, Ferrari, Porsche, and Koenigsegg. We also are getting many new events, some part of the new game modes as well. Additionally, part three of the Formula E event allows new players to unlock cars and veterans to gold them.

9. Cross-Platform Integration

One of the most exciting features of this update is full cross-platform integration. Unlike Asphalt 9, which had limited cross-platform capabilities, Legends Unite allows players on Windows, Steam, Xbox, Mac, iOS, Android, and Switch to compete against each other without hassle. Super cool, right?
